It's nice that it gives you more space, but it's too F'n obnoxious to use in real life 8O

Nope, don't hide mine, because I like to see the time + date without having
to reach for the mouse to do it. And I like to see the status of the apps in
the System Tray (such as if my Pocket PC is synced/connected, etc).
