Beat me to it. :)

I don't think it is your system, I haven't been able to connect there for about a day.

I can load the site fine, so I dont think it can be a problem with the site. Try putting a question mark after the address in your browser (or just click this link) http://www.purebasic.com?

What does that do? (BTW, the site loads fine for me).

Also in Australia, still no joy.

I'm with bigpond which, I hear, has been blacklisted from time to time in some places. Could this be it?

Wouldn't surprise me. BigPond doesn't exactly have a great reputation for
being a good ISP (no offense). I'm with TPG and everything's working fine.

I just checked http://www.bigpond.com/help/servicestat ... efault.asp
and it shows connection/timeouts for NSW BigPond customers, and that they're
working on a fix... so that's likely the problem.

True. Sometimes flies, sometimes dies. Their help-desk people are hardened vets ( and very good - but then they have to be :) )

lol. And this is Telstra. Go figure.

If they fired ziggy they could hire enough decent techs to make a difference.

If they fired the board they could put in some really good insfrastructure and gear.

And if they stopped trying to be a player in the sharemarkets and remembered what they were meant to be doing ...

I was told that putting a question mark after a web address makes your browser check one of the main DNS servers rather than a local one. So if a webpage changes servers (or there's some other problem with it resolving the server) then it'll take a while for your local DNS to update, but putting a question mark after the address will sort of make it look harder. But the fact that none of you have heard it maked me doubt it  maybe I was being gullible.

I thought that the ? began a querystring and therefore it also forced a refresh, so that the browser went to the server to retrieve the page, regardless of other considerations, instead of retrieving it from the cache area offline.

Otherwise things like viewtopic.php?t=12355 might get taken from cache and therefore not show the latest posts!

Non responsive forum for at least 2 hours

Im in Australia too and with Optus. Either the forum itself had problems or the backbone was down but as all can see, it's working now.
