shareware : is it worth it ?

Are there people here that already have written shareware programs ?
My question to them is : can you live from shareware, or do you have a day job also ?

well i won't recamending that you quit your job and start coding...
being that i haven't sold any software i really don't know
i say that in the beginning you proably get close to nothing and even if you been soing this for years if your product sucks it not going to sell

I reckon Im going to go nto shareware, but Dreglor's right, dont quit your day job. The only way shareware could become a full time job is either if:
A) You have a very good reputation
b) in the case of games, youre really good at marketing
or
c) in the case of software, you have a massive range of programs
