Any Gentoo Users with PB working?

i have a problem, i'm using gentoo linux and there seem to be some problems with SDL. SDL *IS* installed and working, so is - according to the files flaoting around in /usr/include/SDL/ - the sdl-devel package (i couldn't find special devel with emerge search).
of course i can not install the sdl-devel rpm from the sdl website, because it says that it needs SDL..
there seems to be a conflict with the SDL package and the portage system of gentoo...
well, purebasic is working fine, as long as i don't use gfx or sound commands that depend on the SDL. but i want to code games, not apps
example:
sh-2.05b$ pbcompiler waponezii.pb
******************************************
PureBasic Linux x86 v3.91
******************************************
Loading external modules...
Starting compilation...
474 lines processed.
Creating the executable.
- Feel the ..PuRe.. Power -
Fatal signal: Segmentation Fault (SDL Parachute Deployed)
anyone?

Did you tried out any other PB sample regarding to SDL? I've seen this warning before, and it seems to me that your SDL is OK (since it is deploying parachutes

). If I remember it right, there is a SDL Mouse sample within PB Linux package. You could try it out an see what happens.
At the moment I'm not ready to reinstall my Linux partition (Fedora), so I can't give you more precise directions...
Is there anyone else reading this topic and having a better spotlight?

oh well....
ok, i tried the mouse example, it's working fine, and i also tried the sprite.pb example .... it's working fine, too.
though wapnezii.pb doesn't work, as well as a simple jump and run that i have coded (i know it's working fine, had it compiled with PB under Suse some time ago)...
so... i don't really know what's the matter here: SDL, PB, or something else..

I had the same error.. And here it's because I have no soundcard

mm... well.. i was kinda busy the last days, so sorry for not replying earlier.
well, i think it has to do with my sound, too. i have a soundcard, and it's working fine with other SDL games.
simple sdl programs, like the sprite.pb example are working fine, whereas the wapnezii game won't work (it's compiling without errors, though).
i think it has to do something with the sound, but the strange thing is, that even when i uncomment ALL sound concerning commands in the waponezii code, it's still not working properly (sdl deploying parachutes...).
however, i'll try to mess around with it further and if i make any progress, will post my results here.

@The_Pharao: May be it's becouse of that I couldn't reproduce your problem. My soundcard is working OK under Linux for all apps (including PB). I've not tested v3.91 yet. My current PB for Linux is 3.81. I would like to know about any progresses you have with this issue, since I'm trying to develop for Linux and I'll use sound too.
best wishes...

Yes, WaponezII.pb seems broken, I will take a closer look.

the waponez issue seems to be a problem with purebasic itself, not with linux or sdl.
i found a thread about it in the german forum, but i'm too blind to find it again.
@Fred
Danilo wrote about the broken waponez in that thread and it looked like he knows what he is talking about.
so if you need help, i think he is a good ressource
