I've recently cleaned out my system of any applications that I may
have been utilizing some software - for what some might call, an
extended evaluation period.

Anywho, I'm looking around for a nice graphics editor, either opensource
or not, but a FREE one.. No nags, just something that gets the job done,
without bothering me about buying it later, etc..

(sorry for similar post.. but I figure if I keep them seperate, then everybody can benefit)

Some links here: http://www.tinyapps.org/

I've used i.Mage but it wasn't great. Did a basic editing job OK but was a real pain for not really supporting the clipboard - meaning you can't Shift + PrtSc and then cut out the area of the screen you want to keep. Bah.

There's also the GIMP, but that's more image manipulation.

There's another small editor, "Painter" which is part of Jens Freeware IIRC. Decent enough.

It depends what you want to do I guess. But you're probably best to keep an eye out for what software comes bundled with e.g. scanners or digital cameras if you're buying anything like that soon. Also keep an eye on magazine cover CD/DVDs. I managed to get Paint Shop Pro 5 from a cover CD here in the UK.

I also suggest you Pixia unless you are working with gif (not supported).
