Can't use mouse with Knoppix

Hi, I just got Knoppix v3.3 on a bootable CD so I can finally check out the
wonderful world of Linux without having to install it.
However, my mouse
doesn't work with it. The FAQ states to boot the CD with this command,
but it doesn't help:
knoppix pci=irqmask=0x0e98
The mouse pointer is visible but just sits there in the center of the Desktop.
So, are there any keyboard shortcuts for using the mouse? All I need to do
is be able to move it and click on things. Thanks for any advice! (BTW, this
is not my PC so I can't install anything or replace the mouse. It's an older
system too: PII with 96 MB of RAM).
UPDATE: I just found this URL, which hopefully will work:
