Good to here that Chris is alive at least...
Poshu wrote:Well, while we wait for a more official solution, I can give you some support: mail me a compiled program using progui (like an example from the proGUI's package) without the 5 minutes limit and I'll mail you back a working library :p
Is this still in line with the license?

That's a tricky one. I'd say it's in line with my believes: then I'll now you at least can compile a valid program (which means you either own a license or you have fooled chris's protection). And I also believe that you should be able to use something that you paid for :p

This is exactly what I feared going in when I bought a Pro license.

It honestly wouldn't bother me as much if he would at least communicate with us. I understand a man has to make a living, but at the same time letting us know what's going on and things are on hold / not dead is just plain courtesy.

For all that's been said, he always seemed eager about working on ProGUI and developing its features, but I can't see what is possibly so major he couldn't pop by for 2 minutes and let us know what the plans are for the future and stuff.

Unless he took some super secret government contract, I dunno? :?

Did you ever get those issues with AutoIt sorted? Or are you not sure how? (I don't remember you going into much detail about the extent of the changes to be made) If there is a "predictable" patterns to the fingerprinting and the changes would be the same, just on different lines, AutoIt scripting the find/replace changes in Notepad might work.

I was holding off on purchasing it because I needed a couple of features that were in the works, and still have not been implemented in the past year or so. I was also wanting to write wrappers for a couple of other languages once said features were implemented. It is a shame development has crawled on this as it is a good product with a LOT of potential. Do wish Chris the best and hope all is well and look forward to seeing ProGUI progress when he has the time.
Best wishes to the PB community. Thank you for the memories. ♥️

I have a working solution for people who owns the platinum licence and got the sources: I just made a watermark cleaner... Still not sure about what to do with it though; I wish I could get in touch with chris in order to be able to do official support till he can take it back...
1.38b (actually 1.38d, I needed a few more features and 5.20 needed a minor fix again...) compile pretty well as a lib too.

My guess is Chris will probably appear with some details once PB 520 becomes an official release, he has spent too much time on ProGUI to let it go to the scrap heap. :)

I would not be so confident since he simply have not logged in for 3 months :/
I guess new job + new life in a new city is quite time consuming (I'm moving to canada in a month, and it's already a lot to handle =_=; ), I'm confident he will be back when he has settle though.

On another subject: here is the prototype for the new patcher I've been worked on, could anyone try it? You need the unmodified progui 1.38 sources, right from the archive. If it works, you should get a 5.20 compliant, ProGUI 1.38c source file. 1.38d is mostly experimental so I'm not planning on releasing it right now.

Poshu,
I ran your patcher on my original 1.38 source and received the following error dialog.

Image

It did create a 'ProGUI Updated.pb' file that was smaller, but gave me a native type pointer error inside the 'Structure MENUITEMINFO_Fixed' on line 256 '*dwTypeData.i'.

Thank You for your efforts in keeping this great library going while PrincieD is busy with another project.

Ok, my bad, a line in my code started with debug, so it was ignored when compiled (yeah...). Just uploaded a new version that should work this time (same address).

Poshu,
Your patcher completed succesfully which allowed me to successfully compile the 'ProGUI Updated.pb' with 5.20 beta 11. I will do some testing starting with the ProGUI example files then testing with my projects and keep you advised.

Great JOB! :D

Hell yeah we've got a working patcher \o/
I've started a thread for the unofficial support while we wait for new development here.

Does no one have a proGUI running full Version under PB 5.20?
Because I have...test it With all the examples, so I do not unerstand why you have to patch this lib????

You've got to patch the lib if you don't want to use the dll (which is a liability because it's easy as hell to got your id from it...). It's also nice to be able to work with the help file from within the IDE, to be able to fix bugs, add features...

I don't use the dll, I build the lib from the source...
