A few free portables apps I forgot to mention earlier, that aren't necessarily available any more:
AutoMouseClicker.exe to program and animate mouse clicks on the screen.
CrystalCPUID.exe to get all specs on CPU and cores.
dmde.exe to recover lost files.
everything.exe can't say enough how this lifesaver has helped me find files
instantly I can't remember where I put them:
https://www.voidtools.com/
LupasRename.exe is super great for bulk rename of files:
https://rename.lupasfreeware.org/
memtest.exe to validate RAM:
https://hcidesign.com/memtest/
ProduKey140.exe to capture Windows License keys:
https://www.nirsoft.net/utils/product_c ... iewer.html
TaskAssign.exe to assign priorities to running apps. Old TomsHardware utility.
Clic.exe to capture and edit icons.
DesktopOK.exe to restore scrambled desktop icons:
https://www.softwareok.com/?seite=Download
Almost forgot:
WinVi32.exe It is NOT vi for windows but it can open and edit
ANY file:
https://www.winvi.de/en/download.html

@Randy Walker
I also use DesktopOK, very useful.
I didn't know "everything", from a quick test it seems pretty amazing, thanks.

All my freeware is amazing. "everything" has been a lifesaver many times when I can't figure out where I put something, and Windows Explorer search is SO deadly slow, I can't stand to use it.
The most amazing freeware I have is "
RJ-textED"
https://www.rj-texted.se/
I don't use it often but when super text editing gymnastics are required it has the features built in to do it. Super amazing anyone would create such a
feature packed program and give it away free.

ClipMate Clipboard Extender
Probably the best clipboard manager (With Ditto and AceText).
Requires reading the help to get the best out of it.
I've had a license for over 15 years. It has now become free since its author stopped developing it 10 years ago. It still works, even on Windows 11.
"
ClipMate is FREE NOW. 7.5 is as far as it goes. We hope you continue to enjoy it until it just won't run anymore. You can use any of our free keys to unlock the trial version. "

Edited: I forgot to include the program name and URL.

The Ultimate
Clipboard Extender
Thanks Marc56us. Will give it a try. Windows tried to do multi-clipbaord but like so many MS efforts it just sucked. Great concept so I hope for the best.

I did give it a try but thought about it and decided not good for me because I use the clipboard to copy/paste passwords from my password manager so I uninstalled it. Don't like the idea of my passwords ending up in a permanent or even temporary database outside of my manager.

Clipmate can, of course, exclude certain applications from the capture.
Tools > Options > App Profile
Search in list for your password manager
[ ] Uncheck All lines
[X] Check ExcludeClipboardContentFromMonitoring

CLCL - Expand of the Buffer of the exchange. I have been using it for more than 15 years. I set up 170 elements in 4 folders for storage.
I made a list of my selected programs on the
page of my site. I can always access the page on any computer and quickly set it up by downloading it by the programs.

LupasRename.exe
My
Rename program has a list of ready-made regular expressions that you can make it yourself in the Ini file. There is a quick abolition to return names. There is a preservation of "Name-MD5" to restore names, even if you ruin all the names, you will still restore them using MD5.

Useful if it can still paste I Guess. Although my password manager also allows me to store notes which I sometimes need to copy-n-paste. Going to be aggravating if I lose that ability.

I can't say it is best as that is a subjective thing, but I have been happy with "WinVi" for years:
https://www.winvi.de/en/
Powerful freeware editor that can also edit binaries is "RJ-textED", although never used it as such.

ImHex
https://docs.werwolv.net/imhex/views/hex-editor
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ImHex
It's much more than a Hex Editor and probably overkill, but it's very configurable and a pleasure to look at.
