It's not PureBasic's fault. And it doesn't matter what kind of anti-virus program you are using (built-in or third party).
For more information, look here on the forum or elsewhere on the internet for "false positive".

If you want to solve the problem, put PureBasic on the whitelist of your anti virus program. If the anti virus program does not provide that option, replace it with a better one.

Typical virus scanner.
Deactivate the scanner during installation and then add the PureBasic folder to the whitelist.

Same for me with different behaviour.
Machine 1 with Avira Pro works without deactivation
Machine 2 with Avira Prime install is deleted !?!

I have a theory that some of the third-party libs used by PureBasic (like for PNG support, etc) might have a bad reputation in the wild due to being misued by real malicious software, so PureBasic using those libs will get it flagged immediately by default. Seems like a plausible explanation to me.

Why do all previous versions allow this, but not Beta 6?

"Trojan:Script/Wacatac.C!ml"
This is a super common false-positive with Windows Security. If you turn off Clo ud-Delivered protection in Windows Security settings, leave Realtime Protection turned on, a lot of these should go away.

Yep. The "ml" at the end means "machine learning", in other words, it's just AI thinking it's detected a virus. Fun Fact: My exe used to get flagged with this exact problem in the past, and I'd submit it to Microsoft to check and they'd always white-list it in their Defender database as being safe (not malware). So the left hand at Microsoft says black, and their other hand says white. :)

Hi,

Some bugs on 3D : "Terrain.pb", "TerrainBlend.pb", "TerrainPhysic.pb" and "TerrainShadow.pb" don't works.

Some objects even seem to be invisible in the "TerrainPhysic.pb" and "TerrainShadow.pb" scripts !

Thank.

It's always better to open bug report topics, rather than commenting on release threads, bugs get super easily lost in these massive threads of thankses.

Hello,

I did it in "Bugs - 3D Engine".
But Fred said, for version B6: "Feel free to test before the final release !".
But based on my tests on the "Terrain" examples, the 3D engine still doesn't work.
So I think it's important not to create a final version with bug.
I may be wrong, but I haven't received either confirmation or rejection of my bug report of April 4, 2025.

Thanks

I got false positives only when i run not saved code, in other words a new program. If i save the code (out of windows folders) no problem.

Thank you minimy, for clarifying what this “little” sentence from Fred means. That would also be a huge step forward for me :D
