I understand it is helpful to allow AI bots to build a knowledge base for Purebasic, but why not force them to register as active users? Limit 100 bots or so, and the site is still navigable for hoomans.

Sadly, PhpBB doesn't seem to allow you to set a limit on the number of allowed guest users... :cry:

Perhaps your firewall supports a rule to allow bots to only have a single session at any time? This would slow down bots, but still grant them (limited) access.

For blocking them entirely using robots.txt, perhaps you might want to check out https://robotstxt.com/ai

Every time I look at the forum, it is very very slow, since full 3 days, also now.

it took about 3 minutes to get here and I have still to hit "Submit" and wait...

Yep, it was fine for a couple hours last night but almost constantly for the past 72 hours half of my requests time out... :cry:
