I'm late to the party, but I'd rather see it solved like this:

Add a version to the subject line (this wouldn't break any internal links).

So, anything up to date xxxx should be v3.10, up to date xxxx should be v4.10, up to date xxxx should be 5.whatever etcetera.

Doesn't break anything. Keeps the version clear. Some old code could still be quite interesting, even when it needs reworking, if only to find the culprit :P who wrote the original tip 8)

I'm late too.

I like the idea of developing a recognized prefix system that is enforced for all snippets posted to that particular section.

OS, PB Version, and Architecture.

[Win 7 - PB 5.21 - x86]
[Linux Mint 15 - PB 4.50 - x64]

and so on and so forth.

Although personally if I were doing it, I might tie snippets to the PB version, via an online help database or something, accessible through the online documentation.
But that opens up a host of issues related to who would operate and maintain it, keep it edited & pruned for standards, etc.

I updated two of my posts for PB 5.20. These are:

http://purebasic.fr/english/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=37564
Is there anything else that I should do to help them go to the new Tips and Tricks forum?
