Over 6000 views of this post! That is a testament for the need of a book like this.

I've gotten a number of questions regarding the book being made available as a physical copy. I have not yet had the time to look into this, so I don't yet have an answer, but I will research it after first getting the digital version out.
Thanks!

Thanks for the update, Krylar. I'm one of those who would be interested in a hardcopy version of the book. Not sure whether you're aware of it, but might I suggest
lulu.com?
Very easy to use, you just upload the PDF of the book, make a few choices with regard to size, hardback/paperback etc, then design your cover, and that's it. Plus, you don't have to pay anything until you've actually sold a book. I've used them a few times, not for selling, but just to create hardback versions of ebooks or PDFs for my own personal use.

Hi Davy,
My son published one of his math books through lulu a while back and it seemed to go pretty smoothly for him too, so it looks probable. I will be sure to check into it after the digital version gets out the door.
Thanks!

I am a member of lulu, they are ok with me, and the site is easy to use too.

Hi Krylar,
I was looking at your site for the book (
http://www.krylarskreations.com/pb_book.html) and see that there is a chapter on DirectX. Since my preferred OS is Linux, I was wondering how Windows-centric is the book with regard to game programming? I know there are other libraries for Mac/Linux and I'm guessing that the concepts will apply no matter what the platform, so even if the book is targeted at Windows users I'll still buy it, if only for the non-game related material.

Hi Davy,
I guess it would be more apt to say it's PureBasic centric, though all of the examples (and the resultant game) are being compiled only in Windows. The "Fundamentals of Programming" section is mostly focused on Windows/DOS as well, as in it has a bit of history of things. The game development fundamentals should translate well across the board.
Hopefully that helps!

Quick note that the editor has finished up. I would love to put out a formal "THANKS" to he-who-does-not-wish-to-be-named.
Also, I ran through and tested all the code against the PureBasic 5.0 (BETA 6) build and they all worked perfectly, except one. That one contained the CountList command, which is being deprecated in PB 5. But in the code (and in the book) I explain what to use as a replacement command.
I will be making the edit changes over the next couple of days and then I'll send it off to BookBaby and probably Lulu to get the process rolling. Should only be a week or two now!
Thanks.

Hello,
I don't have PureBasic but I have a question. Since BlitzPlus has been free from September, I believe that a lot of people have downloaded this good software from the official website. I think that these people also need a good book for learning BlitzPlus.
Many people think that Programming 2D Scrolling Games is an excellent book. However, this book is for PureBasic. Therefore, I really hope that you will adapt this book to BlitzPlus. Then many programming learners can use your excellent book to learn BlitzPlus. You will make a lot of money from this BlitzPlus book because so many people have downloaded BlitzPlus and are learning now. I hope that you will consider my suggestion. Thanks a lot.

Perhaps you write a post in the community sub-forum of the Blitz's official forum about this idea. I think that you will obtain a lot of good feedbacks from Blitz users.

Hi. I actually wrote a book for Blitz Basic a long time ago, but then when Blitz Basic turned into Blitz3D, BlitzMax, etc. I was already neck-deep in writing the PureBasic book.
Unfortunately, I have so many writing projects going on (and work, and music, and graduate school, etc...) that I don't have much time to dedicate to another book of this nature at the moment.
Thanks for the idea, though. I appreciate the feedback.
By the way, you should pick up PureBasic. It's a great language!

Hi, Your suggestion is good...yes!
I notice that the epub version of your book is sold here and the price is not expensive. GOOD.!!! Will PDF version of this book also be sold in the future? It seems that PDF format is more user-friendly than epub format. Thanks.
