If flash is dead, why then, when you right-click on 90% of the videos on the Internet (or so it seems), the pop-up menu says, "About Adobe Flash Player"?

I agree there are probably other better streaming video formats and players available but Flash looks like it's here to stay for quite a while.

That the iPad doesn't support it and probably never will if Jobs has his way, could be the end of the iPad before it even gets started.

Probably I'll be interested in it, as an ebook reader. I always wanted something portable to read books in any format, but the previous available products sucked in my opinion (even if some had great readability other aspects were obscene).

Got one one week ago (WiFi-64GB).

I'm quite happy. It's light and small, lighter than practically any physical book I read in the past (I read of some people complaining for the weight :roll:).

I can finally read my electronics books away from my computer (or keep them "opened" near me).

Screen gets dirty in seconds. Can be also cleaned is seconds. Dirt is not noticeable when the device is on anyway.

Is that bad ? To me certainly not! That's part of the reason behind my buying of the iPhone and my "acquire" of the iPad.

Yes, it happens with most things in life. There isn't ONE car, one WATCH, one BEER, one PROGRAMMING LANGUAGE. Many shares the same characteristics but we choose one instead of another. It's ok for me if you like your china clone (the clone term is misleading though, a clone should be at least software compatible), or if you like the kindle or anything else.

I still prefer my iPad, or else I would have got something different. It's perfect for what I needed. Is it the perfect portable device ? No. Do I care ? No, why should I ?

I posted about it only because I said I was interested in it at the start of this thread, and someone later asked if of all the people talking about the iPad someone actually got it.

Yes, I got it! So I replied (and shared a very quick opinion).

I didn't use the word "bought" because honestly I only "got" it.... didn't pay for my iPad, the Apple stock generously did it (some times actually, but I will remain vague on this point...).

My next gadget isn't an iPad, but an Archos 5, with a DVR station and a 500Gb disk, as I will be able to
connect to the net through a fibre optic cable in a short while. It needs a good connection to the net.

I'll connect it to my Freeview decoder, to the LCD through HDMI, and the 2.1 sound system, that way I can
use it to record TV content, play DVDs, stream video and radio from the net, surf the net, connect to
social networks, mail, play mp3's from WI-Fi, whatever. Listen to FM stations.. Run Android apps and
games, use it as a navigator in my car, transmit audio to my car audio system..

Its not an i*suck product, but so what? I don't care, it's much better.
