probably, there will be a subsystem set that let the coder choose which dx to use... if so, no worry.whertz wrote:Does this mean DX7 support will be dropped? What about Win98 which only supports up to DX8?
Thanks for the update!
PureBasic 4.10 beta 1 (Windows) released!
No programming language is perfect. There is not even a single best language.

Sure, we won't drop the DX7 subsystem. We still support DX3...Flype wrote:probably, there will be a subsystem set that let the coder choose which dx to use... if so, no worry.whertz wrote:Does this mean DX7 support will be dropped? What about Win98 which only supports up to DX8?

By the way -
The drag and drop functionality is wonderful. It made it relatively easy to add D&D functionality to an app that I'd been wanting to for some time now, but just didn't want to take the time to implement the 'old way'.
You guys just have to figure some way to profit from all the functionality you keep adding. I've only owned the product for two years now and the increased functionality is amazing.
Keep up the outstanding work. I don't understand how the competition can stay in business. Between the product itself and the value of the forums, it's like purchasing gold for the price of coal.
cheers

It's because a lot of die-hard Visual Basic fans think PureBasic is a joke.
I discussed PureBasic on comp.lang.basic.visual.misc in the past and the
general consensus was that PureBasic could NEVER be equal to, or even
surpass, Visual Basic. So I think that's what the problem is: people have
their heads so far up their arse that they can't see when something better
has come along.

I compile using 5.31 (x86) on Win 7 Ultimate (64-bit).

I use Purebasic for industry and database programs.
Services, OPC-Clients, Server and client programs. Some solution are better write with purebasis as to write with VB.

Since I touched PureBasic, I've dumped Visual Basic... What I do want to see however is a more stable form designer that can really set the properties on the fly like .NET's.PB wrote:> I don't understand how the competition can stay in business
