muslim drawings..
This whole thing just depresses me, it doesn't really surprise me though. I've lived in LA for the last ~3 years, so i actually lost my faith in humanity about a year ago. Really, people are just greedy and evil by nature (in my OPINION)
Keep in mind, when i say "they" i'm not talking about muslims as a whole, just the violent extremist assholes.
My take on the whole cartoon thing, is that tension has been high between islamic countries and western countries pretty much forever, moreso in recent years though. Any excuse they can think of to justify HATE CRIMES against western countries they will use.
Nothing in all of history has stolen as many lives as religion, yet almost every religion preaches peace and love. How do those teaching get twisted into justifying such evil deeds? I'm not just talking about ancient times or modern muslims, even GW Bush talks about god, and tries to use that as justification for starting wars.
I'm pretty sure i'll be moving to canada in the not-to-distant future if things keep goin the way they have been... Nobody seems to have anything against canadians.... I might be safe there when things really turn bad (they're just starting to turn bad now...)

The manipulators will keep pulling at our emotional strings, and we (the rabble on both sides) get all het up until they get the war they all want.
50 years later the smell of blood and crap and rotting human flesh is lost in history. Instead they have parades, and glorify the affair so it seems noble, and then - sequel!
Or 50 years later a handful of survivors pick through the rubble looking for useable artifacts - these will be the ancestors of the later new-stoneage tribes.

Well, for many reasons, some countries are NOW in that 'era', just like Europe in year 1500.
Is hard to understand? I don't think you should ask "IF muslims.." because they are people like any other people, but they live in countries that have hard situation (in part thanks to Europe!!) and THATS the explanation.

Apparently the cartoons were first published in the Egyptian press in October 2005 and did not prompt any hysterical response. What we have seen was carefully orchestrated mock-outrage by groups with a political agenda that benefits from demonising the liberal decadent west.
You can rest assured the VAST majority of muslims are ordinary decent civilised people who just want to enjoy a good life with their families and friends.
