Yes,
FreeExtractor is excellent and fast. Its command-line version (
MakeSFX) lets you create and distribute patches quickly.
To think that this program dates back to 2001 and still works just as well!

I never tried the command line version. Does it create working desktop shortcut?
I've only used the super simple wizard. Way easier than trying to get Easyzip or IZarc to create a self extracting archive.
(Easyzip and IZarc were also freeware substitutes for the famous "WinZip" utility. I think IZarc is stll available.)

I've found "Revo Uninstaller" freeware to be very effective at removing leftover crap in the registry and filesyetem. How does BCU do in that catagory? Revo can also do bulk uninstalls, if you need to do multiple uninstalls in one shot. It does not operate without user input during uninstallation. I use Revo to get a clean uninstall before doing a new reinstall and so far I've been very impressed. Revo also offers a Pro version for deeper overall cleanup, but I think the freeware version does quite well.

BCU is 77MB compared to Revo at only 7MB
One would expect BCU to be much more effective, although both offer an array of buillt-in tools/bloat.
I'd really like to find something that could effectively and safely uninstall the oneDrive Crap. MS has no business ripping data off my PC. That crap should go to court and MS should pay a huge fine for theft on a mass level. Rant Rant...

I used Revo Uninstaller for a long time, but it got worse in my opinion, also it has a lot of "graphical fluff", silly animations, it's no longer my kind of software.
BCU seems similar to the old Revo Uninstaller, but with a cleaner interface, it's quicker and straight to the point. It can too clean up residual stuff left behind, showing a "confidence level" for each entry.
They are anyway quite similar, the best thing is to try it and then use what you like best.

Well, I did it. I installed Bulk Crap Uninstaller and used it to uninstall Revo Uninstaller. Also learned it can be used to uninstall that dreaded Onedrive, which I will also do after I have time to do a full disk backup to my USB drive. Also their hype about being simple and no user input required during uninstallations is all a bunch of BS. Revo Uninstaller is a lot simpler, although Revo has 2 steps for cleanup after uninstall, where BCU is only one step. So far I like Revo better, but I'll give that BCU another try on the OneDrive before I revert to Revo. No matter the case, I will never use the windows "Programs and Features" option to uninstall any app again.

Yep, if the uninstaller of every program did its job properly, all this would not be necessary. They are practically always atrocious. One of the reasons why I love portable programs.

That's a fact. I used to love nonags.com but they gave up on their software repository.
Another uninstaller I read good things about but I didn't test is this:

I prefer to stay away from manual registry cleanup. Too scary, but I have gone into the programs folder and done some menaul lceanup, along with cleanup in the appdata path.
Well, I did my full disk backup, unintsalled OneDrive and reinstalled Revo Uninstaller which I used to uninstall the Bulk Crap Uninstaller which is just too complicated. Revo is sooo much simpler and very effective, not to mention proven very safe in my experience.

Yeah, thanks for that tip. I downloaded it, unzipped it to my C:\Accessories folder where I keep all my portables and pinned it to my start. The website description sounds quite impressive, but when I ran it I found it to be so simple it didn't even have any config options, so I wonder how really safe and effective it can be on cleanup. Nothing I need to uninstall at the moment so its just going to sit.

Thanks Luis -- I installed it and set up one hotkey for each card but I'm not sure it's actually switching because both cards use the same speakers and I don't even hear a click when I switch. Just need to wait and see if it's worth keeping I guess.
