Inner: I understand. In combination however, given the topic, the responses makes for a sense of uncertainty - at least for the users who desire better documentation. No doubt Fred is very busy, but some acknowledgement that the documentation is lacking would have been preferable to the indeterimnate statement and joke. On the other hand, if the powers that be do not believe that there is a problem, then the intended audience is more clearly delineated. That is, it is a clique/niche product.

A documentation will never fits everyone needs. Just look around and you will find someone which thinks than the MS SDK documentation is bad(even if its the probably biggest and best doc I know of) because it doesn't have any example which each API function, doesn't have good cross linking system, is too big, doesn't provide a good in word search feature etc...

A documentation is a starting point to learn a langage, then you will have to spend some time to really use it and see how it reacts. There is lot of 'small' examples bundled with PureBasic to let you start without be completely lost, and if you are, you still have the online community or the reference documentation which describe in details the functionment of PB. The actual doc is not inexistant as some of you seems to believe, it's now a 1 MB compressed CHM, and all purebasic keywords are covered (with examples), all purebasic functions are covered (some with an example), by topic, a build in index is provided, a keyword search (in function text) is available (thanks to the CHM) and more. Yes, the PB doc is huge, believe it or not. It have about 700 commands to covers, many topics from games to applications and yes, it's fully available in 3 languages. It has a dedicated CVS for cooperating work, a private mailing list to coordinates actions, so yes I consider the documentation as an essential point of a product. So what's your point ?

As this seems to be a recurrent subject and I'm quite bored to say all the time the same thing, I locked the topic. Pesting without suggesting anything is useless.
