Thank you all.

@N_Gnom: Not really. I think for the lighted smoke particle, you will need a bit better GPU, I guess it will start at Geforce GTX 800 series, otherwise you will have realy low FPS.
But we will see it, as soon the update is out, how many GPU can handle it. Maybe it will be hard for Intels internal GPUs ;-).

Greetings

No i don´t mean the speed.
Run it bugfree on all kind of GPU?

Hi,

Except the Intel internal GPU we didn't receive any bugs information, so i guess it should be fine and no bugs.
Also some one said, that the bug on the intel gpu was fixed by updating the driver.
Until now we are happy with the less bugs. I mean, ther is only one with the font and sprite position on the intel gpu.

To be honest, everybody who wants to play newer games, have a graphic card from AMD or NVIDIA. I mean this is a PBR Engine customized for 2D Games, so state of the art techniques :-)
But I'm also impressed, that it runs on realy old NVIDIA and AMD cards :)

Of corse the speed and fps is a other topic in this case ;)

Greetings Arthur

Thanks.
Good to hear that.
It runs fine on my laptop with Intel HD 5500.
On my AMD/NV Systems i haven´t tested yet.

Then....hurry up your great work, guys. ;)

Your impression is correct.
Since the response — in case of user experiences with our lib — was not as large as expected,
we lost our motivation to extend the engine further.
Currently we are not working on the engine.

Of course, when we see that the engine is being used by other users,
we can of course provide support and continue the work on it.

It is a shame, because this was the most promising 2D engine ever seen in PureB. But, like most community contributions, the author loses interest when it is halfway finished.

Community members generally will not use unsupported/unfinished products. Most of us have learned this lesson the hard way.

I think the main problem is this lovely little gem came 10 years too late. 10 years ago (and even longer), PB had an extremely active userbase and there was a lot of interest in gaming and pushing PB to its limits.

Now, PB has, at best, 1/10 of its previous active userbase. This is in no way a reflection of PB, it is the industry in general. BASICs are dying and most of us long-time users (I have been here since '04) have had major changes in our lives that have forced us to reassess our priorities, or simply enjoy retirement and whatever time we have left with our families.

The engine as it is now, is quite useable! All important features are inside. So you are free to use it.
And if you need a dll without the watermark we can talk about this ;)

As it is for me, I will stop PureBasic, because it takes too long time to get some visual stuff ready. I will use it only to make tools or server from now on.
I will change to GODOT and so gave all rights of the code to STARGATE. :)
Of course if he continuos with the engine and needs help, I will help him.

Kind regards Arthur

I want to applaud Fred, for keeping PB going and growing feature-wise. PB is still here and is still one of the best programming languages around.

Since PB has existed, Mark Sibly has created (and killed) six programming languages and is now talking about starting a seventh. Meanwhile, Fred has shown that a competent developer can keep his language going and growing, even through the market changes, and even create a companion language to handle emerging platforms. PB is unrivaled in the industry, IMHO.

There are a lot of niche languages and products that may excel at those specific niches, but for a one size fits all solution, PB is it. I have said it before, PB is the only legitimate BASIC left standing.
