Lets hope not. Fred can't remove it without violating the terms of sale, but he could certainly quit updating it and concentrate his time on more important things.
Best wishes to the PB community. Thank you for the memories. ♥️

@Kuron
I beg to differ. Just because it's not important to you. It doesn't mean it's not important to others.

@Alexi
The LTS version may get some 3D bug fixes, but we won't see new features until 5.3.
Which will be released whenever Fred feels it's ready.

@Dear Kuron.

Please stop your complete nonsence.
Just because you have a different oppinion about PB's 3D -
doesn't make it so. I, for one - truly appreciate
the 3D part and what it has to offer (Both now and in the future).

As I previously stated. Your non-stop jibberish about how
un-important 3D is for PureBasic is getting tiresome.

I work with teenagers for a living. On a yearly basis I work with
approx. 1200 new faces (13 to 18 years of age).
I introduce PB to those, who shows potential and has an interest in programming.
These potentials amounts to approx. 16%.

I refer them to these forums. I urge them to read posts and
download the PB demo. Do you know, what makes them interested in programming?
Game development! Show them a tedious - BORING - non entertainment program
and I've lost them to another language. And I've lost every time.

Not because the language is jibberish or hard to learn, but because kids
get bored fast today. They want fast results and are interested in game making only.

EDIT: Damn! They're gonna kick my butt today, for write the above two lines. :lol:

Your last ranting made some of my kids look to DarkBasic instead
and I had to show them PB's game potential to keep them interested in
using PB.

So...PLEASE!!! Stop believing, that what you're interested in goes for all.

3D is an important part of PB and will never be removed. We will continue to enhanced it, to fullfill more needs.

It is not important to others, because all they do is whine about it not having the features they need, instead of actually using it. The same as Blitz users whining about it not having the features they need, or DarkBasic users whining that it doesn't have the features they need. If it was important to people and they were actually wanting to do something with 3D, they wouldn't be whining, they would actually be doing it. If what PB offers for 3D doesn't suit your needs, there are many other 3D engines that can easily be used with PB. There simply is no excuse for the constant whining for new features. 3D is ever-changing. If you continually wait for new features, you will never get anything done, because there will always be a new feature you want that will make your project better. This thread is about the LTS version which will ONLY see bug fixes and not any new features. 3D is worthless if the core language is not stable. Unfortunately, some only want what 3D stuff PB doesn't have, instead of learning to use what it actually has.

DK_PETER wrote:Do you know, what makes them interested in programming?
Game development!
You are talking to the wrong person, I used to teach game development to teens for many years and used a couple of different languages. I could not agree with you more about using game development to teach programming.

DK_PETER wrote:So...PLEASE!!! Stop believing, that what you're interested in goes for all.
You seem confused. My only interest with any programming language is game development, this has not changed since the 70s when I first started programming. :wink: Unfortunately, I am in the minority here, as most here are only interested in developing applications.
Best wishes to the PB community. Thank you for the memories. ♥️

Look dude! You might have done game programming in the early days, but saying that if it's important, they would
be doing instead of whining - is 100% wrong. Most whiners are from the application side. They get an idea and want it
implemented, no matter how rigid the language itself gets.

Requesting and whining is two different things. Yes...We're requesting for enhancements for 3D - especially in those
cases, which produces crashes, errors or limits a certain functionality.

3D is worthless if the core language is not stable. Unfortunately, some only want what 3D stuff PB doesn't have, instead of learning to use what it actually has.
Wrong again...The core language is quite stable.
You are talking to the wrong person, I used to teach game development to teens for many years and used a couple of different languages. I could not agree with you more about using game development to teach programming.
Then why on earth do you keep on advocating for the removal of 3D? (Don't answer..I know your reasoning).
You seem confused......
Far from it, dude. Far from it.

@Fred.

Thank you for setting things straight. I appreciate it :-)

It is rather dildonic to request new features for a version that is feature-locked and will not see new features. It would be better to put them in feature requests forum for version 5.30.

I have bought two or three 3D games made with PB. None of them used the native 3D commands. Instead of whining about "perceived" missing features, they found a solution to meet their needs and actually got something done.
Best wishes to the PB community. Thank you for the memories. ♥️

Already?!?! I just updated a short time ago! ..My ISP isn't going to be very happy with me!

... wait a minute. I'm not on Dial-up anymore, n/m. I should be AOK.

Thanks Fred.
