Repeated problems accessing purebasic.fr

Everything else that doesn't fall into one of the other PB categories.

Why do you think Google Search is the cause of the recent downtimes? All search engines cache the website content and perform searches on that, else they wouldn't be able to give you results that fast...
I don't know much about all this things, but isn't a DDOS attack something like many computers together going onto one server ? Wouldn't that also happen a bit if many Google searches are done, supposed many Google-computers together doing that search (only for me ) ? Yeah, maybe a stupid idea... otherwise my 5 cents are still cool. :)
Yeah I know, but keep in mind ... Leonardo da Vinci was also an autodidact.

When the site fails in the USA, is it down globally?
What has changed to make this so frequent recently?

Nothing has changed, there is just many PC which are polling all the forums, so the server gets very slow (and I can barely login remotely with SSH)

Here (for me) it acted like a DoS attack bringing the backend to a halt. When the sql server wouldn't provide a response, the page hung and never opened. Other times it was it was like a DoS on the web server where any page wouldn't show up.

Seems much better today.

It's not as bad as it was before but today (Tues 28th 01:35 GMT) it's getting ominously slow again. I think Fred has mentioned that the issue is indeed a DOS attack, but why has the perpetrator picked on PB?

it might not be PB as the target - not if the forums are using a shared host - it could be any number of targets if that's the case
