Due to a lot of PC troubles, I was down and away for a few days,
I come back and what do I see
PB v5.0 is waiting for us...
I forget all my PC troubles

having problems with all the 3d examples from 4.61 - 5b2 the call to InitEngine3D() fails every time

very strange. i`m just going to trace pb with procmon to investigate
Zebuddi.
Just traced PBDebugger.exe with procmon it shows call to Screen3DRequester.pb but nothing for Engine3d.dll which i thought should definaitly be there also the path its using to open engine3d.dll
??????

it has perhaps nothing to do with your problem, but for information it is necessary to install the latest version of directx 9.0c

Very nice, that I now can copy & paste from Safari browser (e.g. code examples on the forum) directly to the PB IDE on MacOS!
This avoid the additional effort to post if first to "TextEdit" and then copy&paste it from there again...

Hi comtois dx9 installed and i believe the dx7 files are included in the dx9 install.
I`m running avast internet security i used to use comodo internet security, sometimes comodo would block access to certain files, was wondering if avast is doing the same but cant find where avast says if it has any blocked files.
bad interface (only cause i dont know what im doing )
i have disabled all avast modules with no joy

but service belonging to avast could still be blocking (had this type prob before)

Solved reinstalled 4.61 and 5b2 ( Engine3d.dll is 9.72mb ) defiantly wrong. now 2.26mb in 4.61 and 2.39mb in 5b2 can people compare please and let me know the sizes you have !!!
any ideas people ?

Hmmm.... this is very strange, I use Avast and most of the 3D examples run fine, apart from the examples that need
a better graphics card.
Could that be your problem? most likely not.

Noooo !!! q6600 quadcore, 4gb ddr3, nvidia 9800gt 1gb, as previous post it was a huge Engine3d.dll where from i dont know checked vith avast and clam av both virus free
and seems fine like a regular dll, no corruption though base address`s are different and the offset`s seem the same any guru`s have ideas please

Strange, remove all older version of purebasic , re-install the latest beta.
Try InitEngine(1) to activate the .log file, and post the file here via pastebin.
i think the bug is the interface between the chair and the keyboard

Or you could comment out lines 18 - 21 and it 'should' work
i.e.
;CompilerIf Subsystem("OpenGL")
;CompilerElse
;CompilerError "Use opengl subsystem , shader is glsl."

@G-Rom Absolutely a bug between the chair and keyboard it`s an embedded feature i`m afraid

as i said 3d working it`s resolved was down to this large Engine3d.dll.
was just wondering if anyone had come across this 9+mb engine3d.dll ?
