Personally, I can't wait until they start smashing protons with this thing. If they find the Higgs Boson does that mean we may be able to create ships that travel at (or faster than) the speed of light (sometime in the next 1000 years)? No mass = really really fast. Beam me up Scotty!
Also, finding another dimension would be cool. I'm still trying to wrap my head around 3+time. Anyone see or read "The Mist"?

That's just it though, according to the scientists, none of the other sub-atomic particles has any mass so if the Higs Boson (spelling?) does exist, it would have to have some mass and that would make it the "gravity" particle.Rook Zimbabwe wrote:However I don't think there is a "Gravity Particle"... I still think gravity is the attraction of MASS and independant of particles, waves, rays etc.

All this LHC talk makes me want to play Half Life again

Well, if the world is ending and i'm going to play a last game, thats going to be it.
And no, i don't think anything will happen. Micro black holes exist in micro time, it will just vapour. And with masses in this small amounts, nothing big will come out of it. Just my take on it

Actually, nope. The world got disintegrated and we're all just memories left;
a consciousness of each of us that only thinks we're alive. You think you're
sitting at a PC reading this post? Nope, just your consciousness doing it; not
your physical body doing it. (Maybe I can make someone go insane).

...or maybe we got transported to a very similar dimension and most people didn't notice.
Actually, I've been in a better mood since Thursday when I woke up now that I think about it

So there's not really anything to it? I'm glad to hear it's my consciousness reading this post, usually it's my subconscious. Does that make sense or am I just crazy?PB wrote:> Well, here it is, Wednesday and the world is still here
