Well, since I'm a relatively new user, I might contribute some post that don't fit, are inappropriate. Trying to avoid that, though.
If I'm 'missbehaving', someone should just give me a friendly nudge.
Oh, and if I say I like pork as a meal, am I insulting or threatening anyone of you?

In my opinion the 'problem' with this forums (if any) are:
1.- To much off topic discussion.
2.- Some users being rude, don't know why.
This forums should be a technicall forum and keep like that, no room for another things much often. I means its not a conversation community.
About the rude people... don't know why, but i read sometimes things that in the past never happends in this forums. I hope everything goes better again.

Ricardo, some people have their bad days and need to let off steam, which is why it's better to have an off-topic area to do it in. Even the best programmers are not necessarily the best human beings and need to let off steam some time and while it isn't nice to read, it's better confined to one spot than all over the forum.
So, since we know it's an off topic area, we will know not to go there if it bothers us.
I've found in most cases that people tend to pull their heads in and behave better if they have somewhere to whine, whinge and complain once in a while.
Of course, there are always a few sad exceptions to the rule but you don't want to give up the forum and lose out on all the good things. I know I don't and I read plenty here (sometimes) that is morally, ethically and sometimes just plain nasty and deploreable. So I bite my tongue, ignore them (98% of the time) and stick to the good ones.
And once in a while, people say I do good code
