NOW I GET OVER FIVE TIMES FASTER
Program launch, data loaded and ready to go 2 1/2 times faster.
Here's the rest of the story...
I have a rather complex search routine for scanning text files. A LOT of string comparison and proximity relationship operations along with having to read in the data from disk. It now cranks out results over 5 times faster than before.
@Fred ... Problem with program launch just came to my attention. My search runs over 5 times faster. My program only loads 2 1/2 times faster. Only 2 1/2 times faster Fred! ! ! Something wrong with that
(kidding Fred ... just kidding)
@GedB ... not worried about the 30k. Libraries have changed and I'm sure its give and take. Just came out weighing a little heavier than before because of Fred's optimization and the code that I use. That 2 1/2 to 5 plus speed increase cannot come without a price. 30k is a damn small price I think.
