Heya,
Fine question. I have given Fred access to all of the book so far, so hopefully he'll let me know if anything's changed that I need to update.
Ultimately, of course, the book will become outdated (as would any text on the subject) as PB will continue with updates after the book is published.
However, I would imagine most of the fundamentals will remain the same. Also, I do have the latest version and everything seems to run just fine
Thanks!

Hi all,
Demo game is complete and posted for your downloading pleasure.
http://www.codersworkshop.com/viewproduct.php?id=646
That gives some book information and also at the top you'll see "Download the Migz Callo: Laser Blazer demo game"
Hope you enjoy it!
Note also that the PB book has been completed and is just awaiting edits from Fred and a few other folks. Once those edits are done and in place, I'll be passing it to Idigicon for publication.
Thanks everyone!

Don't know the price of the book yet, to be honest.
Translation to Spanish? If you know someone willing to do it, I'm sure that Idigicon would publish the translation
Trust me though, you don't want ME to translate it to Spanish...I would do a bad bad job at that! hehe
All the best,

Fantastic demo there Krylar.
Makes me want the book even more to see what goes on to produce a game like that.
Excellent!

Nice game. I do think it could be a bit easier.

I know...I know...the game is a bit, erm, challenging
Well, I figured it's only 3 levels and so ramping up difficulty would be curved quite high. At 10 levels it would rock, but I didn't have time to do that. Sooooo...I leave that as a job for the students <cough>.
Seriously, though. If you play through it a couple of times, you'll learn some tricks that make it quite simple to beat. I can get through all the levels without losing a single life, no problem. It's all in the tricks. Read the page after the story and you'll get some of them down.
Thanks for the feedback!

Hi again,
I've put up a page that has the Table of Contents for the book. This should be the final listing for it, so I thought those of you who were interested would want to see what's in there:

I really like the game and I just can't wait to get your book.

However, there is just one issue when playing the game - the windows title bar keeps flickering over the game screen. Any idea why this is happening?
Oh, and you better get working the PureBasic 3D game programming book.

I wish I did know. I asked so many people for help on this and the only responses were a) really? doesn't happen to me, and b) update your video drivers.
Interestingly, when I updated my video drivers it did indeed stop. However, I still notice a flicker for about the first few frames and then it doesn't flicker anymore.
So I would say step one would be to update the video drivers
Thanks!

Hello,
Nice game and interesting book! I'm new to Purebasic and I'm actually planning to program a sidescroller in the near future. It will be a clone of my all time favorite videogame: Scramble. So wenn it's not too expensive(book/delivery) I'm gonna buy it for sure.
Greetings,

I didn't think it was too expensive, but it doesn't say how much postage would be...
