The InternetUpdater checks, whether the size or the date is different from the installed files.

I added a log file. Update Easysetup (not with the InternetUpdater) and look in the 'esIUpd' folder after updating.

Hi Thorsten,
I have just created an installer on Vista. It runs fine under an admin account, but there is a slight problem when run under a standard user account.
Under a standard user account, the installer works (after asking for a user password etc.) except that it places the desktop icon on the admin account's desktop - it does not place one on the desktop of the standard user from which the installer was run!
Is this intentional, or is it a bug?
Thanks.

Windows seems to change the path, after login as admin.
I hope, I fixed it. Please try it.

The latest version still reports as version 2.3e (something like that!) but no longer creates my setup program! It just creates a setup which has nothing in it!

I only changed install.exe not EasySetup itself???
I created the Setup for EasySetup with the new version of EasySetup.
Try to download EasySetup from my homepage and install it.

I'd already done that - but downloaded and reinstalled again and no joy.
It just produces an install with very little in it!

I've downloaded and installed it. Then I copied an existing project file to the new version. Create a setup. NO PROBLEM?!?
Perhaps install it in a new folder and copy the project folder in it.
Is your project file ok? Take a look to the source folder.

I created an entirely new project file and that yields the same result.
It is simply copying the file "Install.exe" from the EasySETUP folder to my designated setup program!

I've tried it a second time:
- download
- install in an another folder on D: instead of C:
- create an setup-program
- test the setup-program
No problem!
I'm sorry, I can't reproduce the problem.
- Are there some files readonly and can't be updated?
- If you use Vista, try a checkdsk (wrong security-parameter or ownership!)

Okay, I turned off the UAC and then reinstalled in the original folder and re-created a new project file... and it worked!
Turned UAC back on and ran the new setup under a standard account and the desktop icon has not been created! The icon is again on the admin desktop.
Yes, just tried with the UAC switched on. EasySETUP just will not create the setup program when the UAC is switched on for some reason?

I disabled "Request User Mode on Vista".
If this not work I can try to activate "Admin Mode"

I would say that Admin mode is what is required here.
