No the game isn't functional yet. There is a video of the level selection screen in progress a few posts ago on this thread. It will be kind of like Tetris, also but with bombs that drop from physics ropes.

Hello Carm3D your credits are very cool but with all the respect let me say you don't have to put the cart before the horse.
In my opinion i think is better to have all mechanics of the game and later can center in the main menu, credits, intros, sound and all the aspects relative to the game. :idea:
Just i say it because i did too many errors when start a new game project. I hope you take this like a friendly advice to be more productive. :wink:

I hear you.. And you are not the first to say this. I'm assuming you meant intro when you said credits. There is no credits section in the game yet. I guess my response is I have faith in the game I have in my mind's eye. But I guess we shall see, yes?

One thing I can add is that while I have been working on all of this other stuff, the game (in my mind's eye) has evolved considerably, and I've "added" a lot of cool features to it that I am not ready to discuss yet. So you could say it is been slowly simmering all of this time.

Footer mostly complete. The upper-right section shows conditions for earning 1, 2 or 3 stars per level.
The lower-right section shows a list of 1 to 3 tasks for each level. Completing all tasks will earn a gem for that level.

The level tags themselves have two holes at the top. The wider hole on the left is for displaying 1-3 stars, and the hole on the right is for displaying the gem.

The level tags are pre-rendered Lightwave models, and the placeholder level icons are PureBasic sprites, rotated by copying the Lightwave object rotation values frame by frame. Seeing pre-made animations with live sprites moving together is pretty cool.

I also optimized my generation of smoke and debris chunk sprites. Whenever I needed an available sprite, I used a rotating scan head variable. This way the next search for an available sprite will pick up where the last scan left off.

I created a sister program so I can use my paint program draw how each level begins. It converts the imagery into obfuscated/coded data with checksum error protection. The image on the left is one of the early levels so it's just a single colour... But there are a possible 10 different types of level blocks for things like glass, concrete, hardened concrete, impenetrable walls, switches, turrets, etc.

Metaballs working. Some of the tiles are not seamless, but I can fix that with some painting.
