lol eudora an OE clone :D :D
M$ just stole the outlook bar from eudora, eudora got this bar already +/-10 years ago in version 1.52, wich i still use on my TS
I used it on windows 3.11, outlook did not yet exist :)
I also use the full version Eudora PRO , no advertising.
Well I'm prepared to believe that. But frankly, I don't care, both suck ass ;)
And you've obviously paid for eudora pro, which is a dispicable (sp?) thing to do. Imagine not having the joys of banner ads all over your software. Sheesh!

I use Becky,

For many years, it is currently using 3.8mb of ram, and sits there politely monitoring 2 email accounts, it has all the normal mod cons, including html read/write. excellent software.

My two cents

My first e-mail client was the one built in to Netscape. But ever since v4.5 Netscape started getting buggy and un-stable.
So when I upgraded to Windows 2000 I abandoned Netscape for IE and OE and used them for a while without any real problems.
About a year ago I got fed up with all of OE's vulnerabilities, so I abandoned it for The Bat! Excellent program, very powerful and only uses 5.3M of memory.

I wrote a mail client with PureBasic

What do you think?
I have test it, with 6666 mails per folder ... it's fast
The client load only ASCII - but the user can manually
select HTMl view.
I have wrote a "Language - Engine". Because that, you can change
directly between different languages.
The client is very stably, no bug's until now. Memory consumption
around 5 MB (6666 mails loaded). 5 MB + current mail size.
So - if you load a 6 MB mail: 5 Mb + 6 MB = 11 MB RAM...
What else? I have create my one "file system" - all mails are into
one file save + index file.
But I have much to do:
- POP3 + SMTP
- move from mails
- erase from mails
- anti - spam
- create a new mail
- rules
- misc other things
That all no problem - but the move / erase thing are hard, because
I use my one "file - system".
The client have around 2648 lines

Really cool !

I really don't get it. Outlook works fine on my PC. It's fast, reliable even with tons of e-mails.
I have a 1.2 Ghz processor, 256MB of ram, XP home and Outlook 2000 (from Office).

I have work with Outlook Express for years, and now I have
around 50000 E-Mails inside Outlook.
And believe me: Outlook Express have big bug's ...
The first times, I have no problems, but now
at the 50000 limit
And: Outlook Express is a safety risk

How much did Microsoft pay you to say that ??
BTW, Any idea which program is the biggest security risk to a PC??

If you work with Windows XP I would say the NT-KERNEL
NO, KIDDING
Call me paranoid, but I have a Hardware Firewall and a Software Firewall.
Once I got a WARNING MESSAGE from my Software Firewall asking me if I would allow the NT-KERNEL to go out and calling a certain IP-Address.
I said NO and made a copy of the LOG file.
After that I went to the specified address with the Internet Client and a message showed up asking me for a PASSWORD
WHY should a OS-KERNEL use the Internet
That's why my answer to your question is the WindowsXP NT-KERNEL
Maybe somebody else has an explanation why a Kernel needs to call HOME...
M$ should rename the Kernel to ET-KERNEL

One advice don't bulk all messages into one file because file error = lost mails.
create an individual file for each email...
date+time+programid.mail
This way even backing up and restoring emails is easy... you just have to copy/paste them back on the folders....
Also create an mail.index for quick search and upload into the client of the mails in the dirs.
