If you want far less problems and a quicker and easier way to find code snippets, just upload your stuff to the PB Resources Site !!

http://www.reelmediaproductions.com/pb

The site has been reworked within the last month... The entire PureBasic Resources Site and all web pages are maintained and generated by a 14kb cgi application written in PureBasic.

Now that's cool !!!

Well I also found at least one code snipped (little magnifier) made by me in the german forum, and Andre (the poster) wrote down 'Author Unknown".

But hey it's OK - I don't blame anybody, I can live with that.

If I post snippets to the forum, I have to live with that somebody takes it, expands it and posts it again - and maybe he forgets to give credit - well that's live.
On the other hand I can have the modified code too because he posted it.

BTW:
There are users here on the forum they never ever post a snippet.
Post only questions and need/use code from other people.
After that, they sell their programs as shareware.
Nobody knows how much code is from the forum and how much they wrote ...

CONCLUSION - this is a free forum, everybody can GIVE or TAKE.

Franco, also when you don't blame me....
I like to add credits for you (or everyone else), whereever I know. So if you give me the link, I will add the credits to you (couldn't find the code snippet myself). :D

Andre,
as far as I remember the german forum had a crash and the maintainers switched to phpBB, and all old post where lost.
Anyway, in the old german forum you posted 'Author Unknown" ....
now you posted it without any comments in the header:

http://www.robsite.de/php/pureboard/vie ... light=lupe

Well...

If you look at Pupils links from the english forum you will see it's my code 8O

I think that, if in any moment, anyone feels like he deserves some credits in someones else post, just let him know in that post... i feel that everyone will add the credit if he forget it.

Sorry for not getting into this discussion before, but I have only just seen it.

There have been a number of misunderstandings over this issue and I am
sorry that tejon has been upset as a result.

I spent quite a long time testing, correcting and adding to tejon's floating
point code, initially because tejon himself suggested that changes were
necessary. I then posted a tested code module with naming changed
so that the module could be easily incorporated into anyone's project.
I also offered to maintain and test this module as bugs were found and
additions made.

Perhaps tejon saw that as a step too far. If so, I am sorry.

I don't know how tejon's original code was deleted but now that Berikco
has copied the latest version into tejon's original post, I assume tejon
will want to take over test and maintenance.

I have therefore deleted my posting of the code to prevent further misunderstanding.

If you want to help other coders with your great example?
please submit your code, no copyrights
other coders must then be able to use it everywhere even in commercial programs.
Notice of the original would be nice but not neccesarry.
Could you imagine if you use 50 snippets from other coders, the list would be very large, and not manageable.
I strongly disagree it is very manageable, it all depends on how much you respect and value your fellow coders that submit source code to be it forums or a database of some kind of even IRC, that is what notepad was invented for, for example; here is a list of people that helpped on a game I was developing.

-- Lent there talens of verious things I have trouble with.

1. Semar ( concept(s) failed )

2. Spacechimp ( Wrote code but wasn't entirely working )
always seporates itself from the other.

3. Morduun ( concept(s) failed )

4. Tracer ( concept(s) failed )

5. {cYanide} ( Tried some concept code and thorys hasn't worked out yet )

6. Specis (first to stop blue box going thry red boxes)
however balls still seporate. ( which we cannot have )

7. Defiance (Now wants a job as a garbade man)
# blue_box_inv = CopyEntity(blue_box)
# FlipMesh(blue_box_inv)
# EntityType(blue_box_inv, REDT)
# Inner: What a cunning plan!

8. Rob ( concept(s) failed )

9. Sswift ( SUCCESS )

Thanks....
Functions:
