Exactly! I keep seeing new posts in this thread and hoping to see
Gnozal announcing his presence, but it's still just talk about assembler.
This is why thread hijacking sucks. Now I can't be bothered checking
my own thread anymore. Yeah, cry me a river, play a violin, etc. :P

And it's been fun too, but I couldn't agree with you more.
+1

Even though the thread has been hijacked, this has been a very interesting discussion !!

A big attraction of this forum is the range of knowledge, experience and interests of the contributors, and the fact that in most instances, people can discuss differing views without getting too emotional !!

All these threads about "what about user x, he's not posting anymore" become quite dead after a few posts, since there is only so much to say about something unknown. This also dried off, died and changed direction.

In this specific case I feel no remorse for asking a question which was answered back with what I believe were at least partially incorrect statements, even if I'm wrong in the great scheme of netiquette.
So sometimes I feel the urge debate incorrect, or partially incorrect, statements up to a point, at least to not leave a single perspective lying around undisturbed and ready to be picked up. Seemingly unimportant as it may be.

Anyway, to ease PB's pain in this case a simple solution is for a moderator (if he likes) to split up the thread in "Where is G." and "What about assembly/assembler ?"

Should make almost everyone happy.

On a similar note: What about BackupUser ? His last post was on 18 Jan 2005 12:29, and now I'm starting to be worried about him. He was such a prolific poster. And I bet the selfish bastard wrote some closed source library I depend upon and now I'm screwed.

We are, in fact, "Waiting for Gnozal".

And as students of Samuel Beckett will know, this is a futile exercise. So what better to do, while we wait, than chat about irrelevant things. :)

Hmm, doesn't seem so bad when you put it that way. :)

Hi flaith. Nice clean-up, although, perhaps, these three posts might also be better placed in the new thread:

http://www.purebasic.fr/english/viewtop ... 15#p437649
http://www.purebasic.fr/english/viewtop ... 15#p437653
http://www.purebasic.fr/english/viewtop ... 30#p437655

Just a suggestion. :)

Thanks :)
I tried to move a post to the other topic, but it seems I'm missing something, and cannot move it for now

In any case, the posters will always know what happened here.

And now I imagine a moderator should split the topic in two parts: "Where is G. ?" and "How to split a topic ? Interferences, moral choices and technical hurdles". :)
PS: still worried about BackupUser.

And maybe think about how to implement recursion in them?

j/k

A good multiple choice list answer for the original topic question is "in Bhutan".
