Hi Fred! It's really looking good. We truly love PureBasic, and sincerely appreciate all your hard work in making it even better.Fred wrote:That's really a lot of work...

Probably, as Carbon was the only thing stopping Fred from releasing a 64bits PB OSX I think, as Carbon is 32bits only.spacebuddy wrote:Will it support 32 and 64 bit coco applications?

AFAIK Mountain Lion only works on 64 bit computers.Polo wrote:Probably, as Carbon was the only thing stopping Fred from releasing a 64bits PB OSX I think, as Carbon is 32bits only.spacebuddy wrote:Will it support 32 and 64 bit coco applications?

Does anybody really need 32 bit Cocoa version of PureBasic.
(32 bit Carbon would be sufficient - and already available)
It seems to me the developer's time could be more wisely spent.
Just a thought...

Mountain Lion has a 64 bit kernel and requires a 64 bit cpu.fsw wrote:AFAIK Mountain Lion only works on 64 bit computers.

When it comes to applications, it can run both 32 bit and 64 bit applications.
Snow Leopard is capable of running in 64 bit mode but as far as I understand a lot of people run it in 32 bit mode.
Re: Development for Cocoa is underway!
I was wrong with my previous answer.
The 32 bit kernel can also run 64 bit applications if I read correctly.
The only reason to use 32 bit is for the first generation of Intel based Macs that had an Intel Core processor not capable of 64 bit.
If you target Snow Leopard or earlier, a user might have a 32 bit processor. If you target Lion or Mountain Lion, the user always has a 64 bit processor.

32 bit version of cocoa comes with no cost anyway, so it will be available.
