Danilo, you have some fair points hidden away in that garbled mess of propaganda, but that's mostly what it is.

People choose how they want to treat other people, not their political systems.
Case in point? Cuba, Venezuela, the old U.S.S.R, China, North Korea

All Socialist / Communist based states. All with some of the worst track records of Human Rights ever.

Yet people still stand up and say Socialism will work. It's already been proven it doesn't matter what system you use, it won't fix a damn thing. It will just make it easier or harder for people to grab and consolidate power. I'll stick with the Democratic Republic / Capitalist idea, because at least my liberties aren't gone YET.

I don't want my country to end up like Greece. But make no mistake, the Greeks did it to themselves, with their spanding habits/demands, and lack of accountability for the public officials they now blame along with the wealthy. I would ask you to consider that.

As far as our healthcare system goes. It's not perfect, and it needs some serious changes.
But there is still a reason people from all over the world choose to come to the USA for medical treatment, whether they are a lowly "peasant" or the leader of a Nation.

If you can get access to that system, it is one of, if not the best in the World.
We need to get more Americans access to the healthcare system. But the government shouldn't be doing it for us; they should be enacting laws to help, not outright fund.

I don't want to be stuck on a waiting list for 6 months to find out I have some deadly disease that is going to kill me next Thursday. But that is exactly what we will end up with, under a nationalized system. IT won't happen to everyone, but it will happen to someone, where is the Humanity in justifying that as "still better than the old system" ??

Our Healthcare system is extremely over-taxed and we constantly hover on shortages of healthcare professionals in one field or another. Our Emergency Rooms are overtaxed by people who shouldn't even be in the Country, but we have to treat them because the Government says we have to. Nothing inherently wrong with that, but when you have millions of people stiffing the gov't that adds up. It is only a small part of the problem, but it comes together to help form the big picture of how fragile our system is.

Insurance Premiums have already gone up across the board, what's next? Nationalized Healthcare was supposed to save us Money, but everytime I hear about it, its either about some CBO report saying it will actually cost more money, or some other group saying it will save us money, or some other group saying the CBO really said it will save money now.

IMHO this whole Administrations agenda is to just frustrate the shit out of people (the right) as well as their base (the left) and promote some kind of Apathy so that we just don't care anymore and god knows what they will do to take more power at that point.

German people just send some many millions to Greece.
It's not million it's BILLIONS and it still hasn't been enough, Greece will still have to default and devalue, they will also probably have to abandon the Euro too.

Although collectively you could say the Eurozone isn't in as much trouble as the USA that's only because of Germany. I think you'll actually find the efficient, hardworking Germans are getting rather ticked off with the rest of the Eurozone riding on their coat tails.

Greece has a large public (non-productive) sector and anyone employed by it can retire after only twenty years of 'service'. The average retirement age in Greece is in the low fifties as a result. The fact is Greece can't afford that and now they're rioting in the streets because the Germans don't see why they should continue to pay for it. Germans can not retire at that age so why should they pay for Greeks to do so?

In the UK we also have an enormous number of non-productive boondogglers and they're also now kicking up a fuss because our new government is planning a public sector cull. Research done recently showed that public sector 'workers' in the UK get paid 30% more than their productive counterparts and work nine years less but of course they're always bleating about how hard done by they are.

In my lifetime the UK has had two left wing governments and they've both brought the country to the brink of bankruptcy thinking the answer to every problem is to throw a huge amount of tax payers money at it.

I'm not advocating European adoption of the American system but there has to be a happy medium between their crap and ours.

That's just because of greedy dentistry. My 5-year-old son needed a slightly-chipped tooth filed back to remove a sharp point. Took only 30 seconds to do. The bill? AUS $300, or $10 per second. There's NO justification AT ALL for that sort of fee.
Bloody ridiculous, I remember dental cost used to be free for children back in the 70's. I couldn't afford that kind of money so I have to take real good care of what I have because I doubt I will ever see a dentist for the rest of my life, at least in Australia.
A lot of people are taking holidays in places like the Philippines and Thailand to get major dental treatment done and can be half the price it would be in Australia including air fares, food and accommodation for a week, and they say the treatment is first class, contrary to what the health associations say the treatment is second rate.

That sounds just like the USA.

It is called self-defense to protect yourself against the barbarians.

This is untrue. There is free dental care available to those who can't afford it.

I am almost 43 years old. In my lifetime, there has always been free health care available to those who can't afford it.
Danilo wrote:nobody cares if they have nothing to eat or can't pay the doctor.
There are government and private programs available so people can buy food or be fed daily.

Your doing pretty good for the two of you at 25 bucks a week there for food, the bills are a killer though, and the receiver of them wastes most of that I bet, I am lucky and got mine down to less than $1500 per year.
I thinks a hell of a lot more people are going to have to learn how to adapt in the near future.
Between military training and growing up in the country and learning survival-type stuff and hunting and fishing as a kid, and having a lot of American Indian blood (Cherokee & Lakota) in me, and learning from those relatives, I am pretty good at survival and living off the land as much as possible.

Heck, even for health issues, I will treat it naturally if possible. I live in chronic pain and my doctor thinks I am nuts because I treat it with wolf's bane instead of prescription opiates or ibuprofen. Yet, I no longer have to use a cane or a walker. I can now walk 8-10 miles every night and and when I go to sleep, I am not laying in bed damn near crying because the pain is so bad. I am not anti-medicine or anti-doctors, etc. I just don't believe in using prescriptions unless you have to. If you have to, then take what you need.

I agree Kuron, I do not take any man made drugs, eat a wholesome diet, and I make sure I do not live in an over sterilized environment and let my body handle the antibiotics and build up a strong immune system. Of course if I get run over by a bus or get hit by some sort of heavy duty virus I will just have to let the doctors do their stuff, or die.

Bloody hell mate, that is some mean effort, I live in the country, do not have a car, and ride my bike about 25km to do the shopping, but that is only 1 day a week. I think I must be getting a bit slack.

Sure it is. Maybe little bit thought-provoking (for myself too).
The whole world is in a big change now. Let's see what comes next.

I am still not sure if great apes are just crazy. They build all this complicated systems,
laws and toys just to... well, don't know exactly. Maybe great apes are just bored. :D
They need something to play. For some it is politics, for some money, for others it may be
guns, computers, cars...

Wow, this topic is not what I expected?
Comments:
There is no universal quantifier of poverty that I know of?
So, if allowed, I choose to be an impoverished citizen of Monaco.
Maybe, Switzerland next.
I would never choose to be a middle class citizen of North Korea.

Step away from the distractions of material goods and possessions and look to your personal quantity of free time.
This IS the universal measure of wealth.
After you have secured your meals and shelter, the rest is your freedom.
If it takes all your waking time to acquire these basic needs, then you are truly poor.

A loaded gun is the great equalizer of men.
It is freedom in the palm of your hand.
Resist anyone that claims otherwise for they are supremely evil or simply ignorant.
It is extremely foolish to transfer the responsibility of your own or a loved one's safety to a disinterested party.
A 90lb woman walking home at night can stop a 250lb attacker by merely drawing a weapon.
Without it, she can become an outline in chalk drawn by police hours or days later.

The greatness of the United States is our forced regime changes through voting.
The devil has been our choices are too similar to the present leaders.
This is true of any government in any country.
The moment elected, they spend 99% of their time assuring reelection.
Sadly, our citizens must experience extreme shock to make bold choices and sweep out incumbents.
I am hoping that shock is now.

U.S.A. is just another system. Sounds more like you are alone in the states.
You have to care for yourself. If not, you will die. Nobody cares.

In Europe we agree to have a system with a minimum standard for humans.
That means everybody has good health insurance. If you don't have work,
you get money from the government to buy food and have a roof over your head.

Also, Europe is a socialist/communist system where all people are more seen as humans.
Now all the money is shared in between Europe. Greece has a problem? No Problem!
German people just send some many millions to Greece. We help each other, because we
are all humans.

The U.S.A. looks more like barbarians. Make war everywhere in the world to get what
they want. Everybody has a gun in his house. It is barbarian, not human.
No human needs a gun to kill other humans. Only barbarians think like that.

In the states many people live under bridges. They can not go to a dentist (teeth doctor)
if they really need it, nobody cares if they have nothing to eat or can't pay the doctor.
That is a capitalist system at it's finest. Looks like this system is dying now and the
United States will be a third world nation within 50 years.
A great nation lived on credits for a long time, but it is over now. They lost their houses
but finally got a health insurance... the republican party still doesn't like this step to more
humanism. They like barbarianism, guns, 100% capitalist system. Get rich or die trying.

China is the new superstar on the horizon. Russia will follow.
This post would be almost comical if it wasn't so ignorant, misguided and insulting ... especially when the European system, which this current president is working so hard to emulate, is *imploding*.
A European calling the USA "barbarian"?!?! That has to be a joke ... or a complete ignorance of history beyond the last 50 years.
