Hi this is very good produces apks you can install straight to your device from the android2basic bridge at compile time via wireless or usb. many new libraries released via Erel and community daily. constantly evolving great community syntax akin to VB speed wise on par with java.
had this for a year now. i wrote a lib installer in pb a while back but never completed it although mostly done should really get back to it and finish it lol
anyway its worth the investment that and pb the best in there league

It's a great product and as others has commented the forum has lotz of people answering questions and the developer is just like the PB. They answer very quick.
The only thing i don't like is how libraries are handled as this is a pain to keep track on.

Hello everyone, and thanks for sharing this information. Great news for BASIC developers. Like the Basic4PPC before it, the language utilises VB-like syntax, and seems very easy to use. However, with limited-upgrade plans, the prices seem a little steep, especially for the volatile mobile platform. This is clearly illustrated by its short-lived support for Windows Mobile, which did not continue past version 6.5 into Windows Phone 7, which shouldn't have been a problem since it is .NET based.
Personally, I use
GLBasic, which is priced at around US$100.00, with free lifetime upgrades, and unparallelled multi-platform support. With a single source, it can target Android, iOS, WebOS, GP2X, OSX, Linux, and both Windows and Windows Mobile.
Just my humble opinion, but definitely worth a see.

I don't think $100 for 2 years worth of upgrades is that bad. Yes we've been spoilt with Fred's upgrade policy, but come on. I've been writing Android apps for a while and have recouped the cost multiple times over.

Windows Phone 6.5 and 7 are very different operating systems. I've created and still create lots of software for Windows CE5/Windows Mobile 5&6. Microsoft ended support of this OS in Visual Studio 2008. They are rumoured to be bringing it back in Visual Studio 2012, but I'll believe it when I see it. There is still so much hardware coming out using Windows Mobile 6, predominately industry grade handhelds. I would be surprised if an announcement hadn't been made stating something familiar on the Basic4PPC website.

Maybe with an addon (I doubt it), but for now VS2012 (already Final) has no support for Windows CE and Windows Mobile 5/6.

I've been using RFO Basic, and love it for creating simple apps. It's a tiny download, free and open source, actively developed, you can code right on your phone, and create APKs on your desktop. It's by far the simplest development environment for Android, with very powerful functions to use most of Android's abilities. I wrote an introduction and complete tutorial for it at
