There are so many surveys like this now.
China will be the same as Japan and Korea in time.
East Asians also have a higher average IQ than Europeans (than anyone else in fact) so maybe they write better software too.

They used to be. Nowadays Mercedes are expensive. You could say, Mercedes Benz dropped quality for shareholder value... People are willing to pay a great amount of money, if the product actually IS good. In times, when 2 products with different prices and brand-image come from the same factory... Secondly, I assume, that all languages using symbols and pictures to write something down, help improving your average IQ. Japanese, Chinese, also Korean, Thai in some way. Some ten years ago, I attended Japanese lessons just for interest, but already had some problems memorizing the Hiragana (as I wasn't that committed...). And Hiragan are only 61 (or so?). In Japan, if you like not to be called illiterate, you have to know at least 2000 of their Kanji. And if you are proud owner of this knowledge, it is much easier for you to find differences and similarities in every aspect, as your brain is widely trained.
I remember IQ-Tests, and a great part of it deals with similarities, differences, and fast interpretation of images and logical questions. So who is in advantage now?
Yes, a simple conclusion: learn Japanese or Chinese when your young. It's better for your brain. Ah, and eat more fresh fish and vegetables, no burgers

Very nice logo design. I will use the "Developed with" too. Maybe we could use "Purified with"
I also studied Japanese as a hobby; I am mastering the Hiragana very well, as well the Katakana, and my number of Kanji is limited to maybe 200. But it is true that learning to remember the signs forces the intellect to work, it helps to get a more visual memory... it's a bit like remembering the icons on the desktop... And yes, the younger you're learning (read: playing with) them, the better you will master them. But it's never too late to begin something! Hajimemashou!
And PureBasic can use Japanese... In the editor, click File > File Format > Encoding: Utf-8. Click also on Compiler > Compiler Options... > check "Create unicode executable". (PureBasic 4.40)

I created a SVG variation of this logo that should look good on both dark and light backgrounds.
Below is how it looks on white, on black the shadows will be less dominant.
And below the image is the SVG "code", just save that to a file and call it PureBasic.svg and view it in your browser (IE does not support SVG btw).
Since SVG is a vector format the image can be scaled up or down without any pixelation etc.
This is the first time I messed around with Inkscape but hopefully this is good enough for further use.
Below is how it looks on white, on black the shadows will be less dominant.
And below the image is the SVG "code", just save that to a file and call it PureBasic.svg and view it in your browser (IE does not support SVG btw).

Seems, we're having a nice logo which only needs some "official words". I sincerely hope, Fred and team likes it, too.
