Racism can be a strange reverse thing too.

When I was a young boy, I used to be called a "WOG" which was incorrect as it stands for "Western Oriental Gentleman" and it referred originally to the chinese labourers in our goldfields.

I was born in Australia to Hungarian parents and the boys who called me that were italian immigrants, go figure. I used to laugh so much back then and they hated it because I understood it and they didn't.

People will call you anything when they don't like you (or beat you up) in a vainglorious attempt to feel superior and they usually fail as it is their own inadequacy in dealing with you that is the problem and not you.

I don't get called names any more but I am worried about the spate of Australian tradesmen who roar about our streets in noisy utes, drinking, smoking, swearing and they pretty much always whistle at me when they see me coming along in shorts when I am just trying to feel cool in this blasted heat.

Should I put on my concrete trousers perhaps?

P.s. One put down that I could never understand was being called a "portable pine tree". Anyone understand that one?????

I always find it amusing when other people assume that I may be laughing at one thing when in fact I am laughing at something else. Like most here, I find myself laughing both with Kwai and at his outlandish posts; hell if some of what he says fails to make someone laugh then my contention is that that person must have just returned from a lobotomy - or is in desperate need of one!

If someone wants to 'assume' that I am laughing at Kwai because of his English then well, what do I care? Assumption is the mother of all **** ups and I have better things to do than worry about what other people think. Whilst I am being accused of being racist then I'll be down the pub drinking myself silly with my old chum Kwai and anyone else who wants to join. No Aussies mind, those b*stards always drink all the good stuff!

Now that was funny and I', still smiling. But the retards who used to cause me misery when I was a kid and call me all sorts of names didn't have the intelligence of a smelly g-string to have used it in that context. Trust me on that one:):)

PB, you and I can get together at the pub and you can drink all the beer that those ****ard English gits up above keep stealing from us Aussies and I'll drink Milo and snort a them all:):)

@Fangbeast: How you handled the experiences you related reminds me of a quote by Brigham Young in which he says "He who takes offense when offense was not intended is a fool, yet he who takes offense when offense is intended is an even greater fool for he has succumbed to the will of his adversary."


In the forums there are plenty of causes for misinterpretation, due to the brief exchanges via text in a foreign language (including not just the spoken ones but also PureBasic, math, SQL, etc.). Most are anxious to use that language better (especially PureBasic) if given the chance (and time, lots of time ). It is a very straightforward thing to PM someone and reconcile an unintended offense if such a thing occurs or is suspected to have occurred.

the topic was about KCC not any person out there, read his messages here and look on the french forum, even if you don't understand french just by the way he uses BOLD and smiley and any picture he can throw in his messages you'll definitvely end with the no answer two.

No offence, but I answered 'no' and would do so again given the background here. I respect Kwai as much as I do the next person. It was a case of : "... hey, Kwai is a good lad who likes a good laugh and so no this is not a display of racism but something resulting from some intelligent and humorous exchanges..."

You can claim that I am showing Kwai a general lack of respect here, but then I would claim that a 'yes' answer to this question is showing an equal lack of respect to Kwai. To decide what is racist in a situation like this is a bit presumptious really and is not taking Kwai's feelings into account at all. I think he could make his own mind up here. How far does it go? I have a laugh with Kwai and then get accused of being racist! Well, it matters not at the end of the day.

In fact, this whole thread really is in itself showing a lack of respect to Kwai and in that I am definitely guilty!

I think the politically correct must be constantly battling to supress their own racist thoughts, they certainly seem to see racism everywhere.

In the deutch forum, a member is bad with KCC, and say to KCC that if he don't speak deutch he must go to english forum
The more funny it's that KCC don't know speak english too
KCC is very sad, because he believe that all the member of PB is brother, and if KCC go to deutch forum, it's because there are also MASTER, and perhaps he never come in the english forum.
Like usually the question of KCC is hard and the french and English forum can't help me.

In french forum....we mix the humor and the answer, in the same time.
We respect the programming, but there are several way to say an answer, and when she is give with humor, it's two present in one

I'm not a buffoon in the real life, but in programming yes.

With internet, i can talk with my heroes, like my star.
And in the life i think that it's important to know where is your place.

A man can be at the down of the scale, in the programming, and ear all the conseil, without say a word
And the same man, can be a professor, for made a wall, if he is mason.
And this man, can teaching, at his professor in programming.
It's a loop

Everybody can be professor a day....but the subject is different, it's all.

Me.... when i come in a new subject, ...........i see my place in the scale of this subject.
And i try, to mount the rung, one by one
In the same time, i respect the MASTER above me, and the student below me.

If everybody know, where is his real place, and never be too much pretentious, ......then...... there are never fight, never war..

For me the MASTER can to be pretentious....he is the MASTER then he have the right
For to be the MASTER he have working, working, working, learn, learn, the day the night.
And a day he see around him.... he see, he is a MASTER
Obviously, all the MASTER not be pretentious
And in the PB forum, i have no find a pretentious...
But even, if a MASTER is pretentious....he is not really bad....he have too much working, and want everybody respect his level and work, it's all.

For me the man that i hate.....it's the pretentious who don't know anything...and say at everybody, : "I know that....i know this..."
And teach everything and anything

Like say a GREAT comic in france (The better) :

There are a enormous difference between, to be pretentious, and to be nasty with somebody :roll:

And i love it, since 16 years ago, but i work, work, work, all the day.

Even, i love programming....obvioulsy, the programming don't love me

But with all his friends and brothers of all the word.....KCC is very strong...and he can fight the bad programming
And it's the reason why, KCC is so proud to know, and never can thanks enough, at all his brothers who help it, all the day
