That probably wouldn't hurt your healthKale wrote:Yep most of the time! i really ought to cut down tho'.thefool wrote:You just stated that you're drunk
Yes, thats right.PB wrote: Agreed! I've had better code for a problem here, but because I'm lazy, when
I see the SOLVED thing, I don't bother replying with the superior code, and
just keep it to myself instead. So yeah, it's not a good idea to use SOLVED.

Fred, you gotta change those locks...

Wow! nice rant!garretthylltun wrote:I find some of you rather pathetic in your reasoning and excuses as to why SOLVED should not be used at all. And personally, it sounds more like your being selfish rather than thinking of the community as a whole.
The fact is, if the original poster is satisfied that his question has been answered, or problem has been resolved, then the poster has closure on the subject..... it's been SOLVED *period*!
For those of you who have nothing more to do in your life than to nit pick at the subject of whether SOLVED should be used, there is nothing stopping you from really furthering the original posters content, heck, feel free to keep posting away in that thread if you see fit. That still doesn't deny the fact that the original poster has resolution to that subject already, irregardless if you have some new solution that you think is better. There's just nothing stoping you from saying "Hey! Wait! I believe I have an even better solution to your problem!!
This whole thread is a bit pathetic too if you think about it. Instead of wasting time whining about this in this thread, you could be either coding, playing a game, or, *shoot me for saying this* helping someone up there in the other sections of the forums, giving them resolution to their problem!!! I hear a lot of talk but talk is cheap my friends..... Stop talking and put those uber mad leet skills to work and quit whining about SOLVED in subject lines. The fact is, it helps more people than harming a few people whining about it.
Well, whatever, I'm off to play a game myself.
The whole point of this forum is education and if a person who asks for help is only given half the answer thats extremely sad and a missed oportunity. Half the answer (in most cases) may have solved the original person's query, they also may be satisfied, but it certainly isn't closure on the subject in almost all cases! And thats the whole point. Me bringing this question up about using [Solved] is with others in mind, especially those with less experience. To me it doesn't matter one way or another, but i get irritated seeing a 'solved' thread with so called solutions which i know that there are ways of doing things a lot better. The fact is, if the original poster is satisfied that his question has been answered, or problem has been resolved, then the poster has closure on the subject..... it's been SOLVED *period*!
If you feel a thread and its contributors are pathetic, please, just ignore it.garretthylltun wrote:I find some of you rather pathetic [..] This whole thread is a bit pathetic too..
Thread more carefully...blueznl wrote:Last time I was so caught by a thread there was a needle attached...
Now I wouldn't mind if the majority of you would look like Claudia Schiffer in her best days, with the remainder equally spread over Tricia Helfer and Grace Park...After that we can all undergo attitudinal and emotional reprogramming so that we all think and act in the same way. Finally we can change our names by deed-poll and our looks by surgery so none of us are different.
