Well, let's be honest here... There are dozens, if not hundreds, of Blitz3D games, apps and tools created with B3D. That is the real testament to how well 3D is supported. OGRE is really powerful, true. But PB's support of OGRE has a long way to go before it can even remotely compete with B3D. Sorry, but we all know this is true.

In other areas, however, PB is superior to B3D and indeed even BMax. Recently, Mark Sybly released B3D as an SDK and the blurb on the website even mentions PureBasic by name a one of the supported languages (along with C/C++, etc).

So anyway, in the area of 3D, PB has improved since OGRE support first appeared, but there is still a long way to go...

For informations, a whole OGRE update is planned for 4.30, which shouldn't be that far from now.

Hmm, this is madness. I mean PB already owns at application programming. If version 4.30 will really have decent ORGE support PB will be unstoppable, no? That said I would suggest that you raise the price of PB a lot. At least 150 $ or somthing. I don't want PB to suffer from the same fate as the Aurora Compiler / E-Basic.

PureBasic is around since 9 years now, do you really think it will suffer of such fate ?!

Well, this doesn't protect you from going broke. No matter how long you been around. I really appreciate all your hard work and such a low price for such a superb product but you need to pay bills and make a living, no?

I think you are aware that you can charge far more than the currect price.

Good news, I hope.....

<bait on> I don't suppose you will answer Fred..... but...<bait off> ;)

You already said DX9 for 4.20 ..... so is this still the target ?

and 4.30 for OGRE.... using the latest codebase ? or which version ?

and does this include an update to the physics ?

just curious :D

DX 10 just runs under Vista anymore. So you can assume DX9.0c at least should be implemented. =p

DX9 is already finished for 4.20. We will use the last version of OGRE indeed (actually 1.4.2 but it will probably change then).

Let's have it then Image

Seriously....

Have you tested it on older systems ?

I ask because on a couple of older systems that I have, the DX9 subsystem and Dreamotion (additional DX9 code for PB) do not work.

On the same systems, the Irrlich wrapper runs perfectly!

So I guess I'm hoping PB DX9 will be as compatible as possible!

:D
