It was not my intent to start a flamewar, I was just pointing out why people stay with Windows, even if they think it "sucks".
Maybe it's you that wants to start a flamewar?

No malware enters my PC.

Come one PB, you cannot say that Logitech make excellent drivers. They are always minimum 6 months behind everyone else when it comes to making updated drivers.

just an example:
make a Sprite3D out of a Sprite that is not (2^n)² of size.
my old GForce 2 could handle it. every NVidia card I know handeled it.
when a problem caused by that occured, it was almost always on an ATI card.

Despite that I am an elite and I wear my panties on my head, could you give me some PB code to test? I don't understand your mathematical expression.. Thanks!

in fact there is no difference in the code but in the ressource...
(2^n)² means a square sprite with each side in a length that is a power of two,
e.g. 128x128, 256x256, 512x512, 1024x1024, etc
NVidia Cards can deal with sprites in other dimensions to make a Sprite3D out of it.
making a Sprite3D out of a 213x157 sprite is possible on a lot of NVidia cards.
ATI cards often can not.

I like this one.

For all it's touted security, I wonder what percentage of users will just turn it all off or at least turn it down becuase its such an annoyance as is...

Fortunately I haven't encountered any rootkits, from the way it sounds, don't want to either...

Oh... "Flame on!" then...

"Logitech make excellent drivers"
Well, my story is this: I have both a Microsoft IntelliMouse and a Logitech
MX510 mouse, both optical and both connect via USB. I had to stop using
the Microsoft one because the connection would always "drop out" all the
time, ie. I'd be moving the mouse and it would suddenly stop moving and
do nothing for about 2 seconds while the USB connection re-started with
it. This is with the latest drivers for that mouse, which Microsoft themselves
provided. This is with a clean XP install too. So I ended up uninstalling it
and buying the Logitech mouse, which hasn't "disconnected" once and it
feels more direct and responsive when using it too.
I find it funny that Microsoft's own mouse is incompatible with their own OS.

I use a MS Intellimouse for years...
indeed, I do not use the special drivers included in the package,
I just let my W2K recon my mouse and use it that way.
works fine, never a problem.
remark:
I lately discovered problems using an USB HD on the front ports.
on the back ports that are directly connected with the mother,
not with wires, everything works fine.
conclusion:
wired (front) USB ports may produce more errors when the hardware is older...

I use a Microsoft LaserMouse 6000 without extra drivers installed. Never had any problems. I have a Logitech QuickCam 4000 Prom it took 6 months before Logitech managed to make drivers compatible with SP2. Same crap with Vista. They have worked with Vista for a long time and the drivers didn't work with Vista when it came out.

Installing drivers for a mouse or a keyboard?
You Windows guys seem to have to much sparetime.

spare your remarks!
A lot of dumb hardware shippes drivers with it....
It takes a programmer to recognize they are not needed....
PS:
to anyone other:
the forth/back function of Button 4/5 does work without the driver...
W2K can do it itself....

For my Microsoft Ergonomic keyboard 4000 it would be dead stupid not to install the drivers. Oh why am i here with all these stupid guys...
Just because you only use simple hardware eh?
