COngratulations to the down under guys. Well done! :)

It looks like we'll have a tough match between Croatia and Australia, probably a decider who is going to stay in the competition.

Thanks (on behalf of the team :D) for the congrats!

On paper it's Croatia, I think.

But in reality, Australia owns! :)

Hehe. :) You just blew your free updates for the next 4 years.

S.Korea -v- Togo was interesting. Togo leading until they were a man down. This is a different world cup, we may be seeing some not-too-far-in-the-future powerhouses in their early days.

Brazil - Croatia was also interesting. I hope Brazil was playing sub-par. :)

I don't think so. They played (especially in the 2nd half) as much as we allowed them to. But then... I must congratulate Kaka for a very nice goal. Unlike our (Croatian) guys he was actually aiming while he was shooting at the goal.

Like I've said before, Australia vs. Croatia will be a deciding match. Can't wait to see that one...

Yes. But if we can get things sloppy, we're great opportunists.

Prediction:
  • Croatia 1 - Australia 2 (1:0)
    Croatia 1 - Japan 1 (0:0)
    Brazil 2 - Japan 0 (1:0)
    Brazil 1 - Australia 1 (1:0) *shock*
Final standings:
  • Brazil: 7
    Australia: 7
    Croatia: 1
    Japan: 1

I do believe we can manage a draw -v- Brazil. To beat Brazil we would need to get ahead in the last moments of the game, because they wouldn't allow it if we went ahead early.

Actually, what worries me is the case where (if I have it right) Australia ends up needing only a draw with Croatia to get through. If that is the case, and the team plays for a draw, it could lose.

Assuming goal difference is used to break ties, and based on:

Australia keeps goal difference down in Brazil - Australia. (1:0 at worst)
Croatia then needs to do 3:1 or better against Japan, which seems unlikely.
