They arent hired, thats why they wanted help.
I do know some .net programmers currently hired by (poor) companies though. Sad jobs on writting database entries, etc. But theres a little of THIS and a little of the OTHER in the world, you cant really say that if you use .FCK you'll be dead and wont get hired. You'll get hired using any language, only and only if you're good and they feel you can do any good to their company, thats how it works. It's not the camera that takes the pictures, it's you. Know it.

It was already been installed, however I'm somehow immune to valium.

Plus, what I say is true.. Even if I give you the best digicam around, and you know crap about photography, I doubt you'll take any professional photos...

And that backups what I wanted to say.. It doesnt matter the language, what matters is you and your knowledge. so stop crying about other languages coming up, and get your ass to work on any language you feel comfy at!.

However even if I'm against .net, that wouldnt change anything on YOU, if YOU like .net, go ahead. It's a point of view: .net is crap >TO ME< .

Although I don't like .NET for desktop apps it's great for web pages (ASP .NET)

Uhhhhh whatever. Totally agreed with Dagcrack though in most of his posts. To be sincere - I don't know any C++ (but had a few experience with a freeware old DOS C compiler) but it's because I don't want to. Recently seeing the source of some old DOS game made in C++ I go all like "OMFGWTFBBQ ITZ MADE IN C++?!" and the code looked real easy after that. I haven't learned C++ 'cuz I haven't wanted to. But I have the tools.

Now, on topic...

.NET is bloated, and slow for old computers.
I can run PB apps in a K6 133Mhz/64MbRAM/Win98SE without any problems, the GUI runs easily and at the same speed than in my 933Mhz. Of course, graphic apps and numbercrunching would be slower (DUH!) but it doesn't slows down the whole system (like .NET does).

.NET may be good for WEB apps, not for GUI apps.

To me, .NET is a Web language and a GUI wannabe - something it can't be.

NO WAY I'm gonna download a ****ing 30Mb framework for using a 500Kb app. I say eff it and go program in a real language. (Maybe PB isn't a real language - it's based on BASIC after all - but surely will make you learn more... like I do now with the WinAPI stuff. It was easier to learn it on PB rather than in VB).

Conclusion:

.NET: Big, bloated, slow, requires a 30Mb framework.
PB: Works on any system (and is portable too), small apps, no framework other than your Windows GDI, faster, easier to program, extendable, and creates click-and-enjoy programs & games, not click-and-download-framework-then-restart-then-run-and-pray-it-works.

I tried it out a few weeks back and, as expected, it seemed unnecessarily bloated, but to each his or her own. Some of you might like it.

IMO opinion, it does not represent "competition" to PureBasic, but then, I haven't found anything that does.
