Are we even sure what exactly will be in version 4? I personaly have not seen a list. All I know is that there are tons of wishes mountains high. I guess like any Christmas present the contents will be a surprise?
Thanks

Command-wise I'm not sure, but the interview states v4 will have:

- Unlimited strings
- Doubles
- Unicode
- Thread safety of the whole command set (including strings)

Those four items are massive improvements on their own. :)
I compile using 5.31 (x86) on Win 7 Ultimate (64-bit).

Yes those features will help alot when trying to work with libraries outside of PB. And maybe there will also be a update with the Ogre Graphics Engine. Hopefuly by then it will be working. Overall I cant wait til Version 4 is released!
Thanks

Those four features alone is enough to warrant a v4 as it means a lot of major internal rewrites (for Fred).

They will also have a major impact on how software is written (and what software).

Like my archiver will really benefit from doubles (2GB+ file sizes), unicode.
and several other projects will really take off with full threadsafety esp on strings.

Add macro preprocessing and I'll be very, very happy...

Add Design-by-Contract (DbC) and I'll be ecstatic... :)

40. What does happen if suddenly would happen to you (what we don't hope for sure)? Will there be anybody who represents you?
Well, there are some directives here to at least release the whole sources.

Fred, now if we arent pleased with v4, you should be careful and watch your back for assasins

A very good read, thank you!

Fred, perhaps you should consider asking for yearly subscriptions. That way we could keep you supplied with Jolt

At least give us a chance to send you and your cohorts a little something for Christmas with a PayPal button or something...
