The german PureBoard-Archive is aviable as a Database-Backup with a viewer(coded by NicTheQuick). Maybe they can do the same with the english board.

Would be better to use a database backup, the bandwidth will explode if everyone does a such thing (and it will really impact the server performances).

Yes that makes the most sense to me. Then again I've got an Apache/Php/Mysql/phpBB server on my LAN. It would be easy to set up the forums by restoring from the database backup.
