I think the only real issue is/was whether an opinion posted here could mislead or reflect badly on PureBasic just because the poster had a high post count.

This was outside of the official team's control and rested entirely on a person's ability to click the new post button.

Now titles are bestowed by the PB team and so it is in their control. These people speak with some authority and have some trust invested in them. And so the ranking is an accurate reflection of the official PureBasic viewpoint - for good or for bad.

And now the ranks are for fun. And should be treated that way. Addict is good! "Inmate" should be the next one up, because the poster spends so much time here! :)

BTW: Logic doesn't have a hope in hell with humans. Emotions/egos count for a lot, just about everything - otherwise this discussion would not be taking place, not so?

(Did you know that very few, if any, decisions are based on logic? Most are based on emotion and rationalised using the best logical arguments we can drum up.)

And just in case anyone gets the wrong opinion, I'm friendly, I'm just voicing mine. :)

Yep, it's AdBlock (as Max said). And it blocks ANYTHING you want, not
just pictures... you can block Shockwave animations, links, frames; just
about anything. Makes surfer so much faster too due to not loading any
of the blocked items. ;)

Also, someone here once asked how to block users in these forums, well
I found a Firefox extension called "phpBB User Hide" (Google it) which
does it... it puts a little X next to each person's name on a phpBB board,
just click it to "plonk" them and never see their posts again. :) You then
click the X again to "unplonk" them.
Actually you can block any images with the normal FireFox install.
Just right click on a image and click on the MenuItem: "Block Images from...".

Perfectly summarized. I rest my case. Anyone can draw his own conclusions

Max. wrote:Then the name of the rank is chosen wrongly. I expect very high knowledge of programming generally, but even more proficient knowledge of PB and it's internas from someone called "Expert". That is my IMHO.
Yes, this is what i also believe to be true about all with the 'expert' rank. Not only a firm grasp of programming principles but an even firmer grasp on PB and its internals. In my reckoning all 'experts' have both!

This discussion is really funny!

EDIT:

I have a feeling that someone with access to the "DELETE ALL" button will be along soon.

Postcount - 6
