I tried it and this IDE is great ! It is really what it missed to the PB Linux version. Let's wish it will be available soon for Windows too.

Good job and congratulations Freak ! :)

Hummm... although I've always been a Mandrake fan, today I decided to install Xandros Desktop for a trial run.

The PB command line compiler works just fine, but I can't get the new IDE to run at all. :?

Maybe I'm missing some libs or something... any ideas?

Afaik, these libs are required for the ide:

gtk 1.2
libstc++ (because of scintilla)

Maybe that distro comes with gtk2 packages only?
The ide is for gtk1 only right now.. there will be a gtk2 compile soon though.

Try to compile the gadget examples that come with pb. Do they run?

Yepper, the gtk2 thing most likely is the problem. Maybe someone else can verify...

And, yes, the first thing I compiled after getting everything setup, was the "gadgetfull.pb" example. It compiles and runs with no probs. :)

Btw, I *did* run the new IDE on Mandrake aand that is some very nice work! Good stuff!

It's an editor, ie IDE :)

IDE = Integrated Development Inviroment.

Theres a fine line between IDE and Editor. Technically an editor is just that, it might have syntax highlighting but thats usually it. IDE tend to have things like bookmarks, procedure lists, autocompletion, etc...

Well, many editors also have bookmarks etc, but they are still editors. So yes, there is a very fine line. Any one care to try to draw that line? :)
