Having said all of the above on abortion I just wanted to add I could never ask for my partner to abort our child, because I realize how special human life is and what a gift it is to be able bring another life into this world. Having a child is the single most precious thing in the whole of this universe. I am not speaking religiously when is say this. I don't understand why some feel the child growing inside them is not worth keeping, but I do believe in their right to feel that way.

I.. have to say the same. Let's try this way... :)

What about birth control? For example, my wife was on the patch for awhile now.. (She is currently now off as we are trying for our 3rd and 4th child). However, there are those, pills, shots, and the olden stuff (condoms, plugs, etc..)

But.. there is something else I have found too.. Something called "Before And After". You suppose to take a pill before .... and one after... But the thing is, if you concieve over night, the 1st pill should ah, remove the egg, and the 2nd pill will flush it out.

There are a few products like these on the market. How is your position on this? One of my friends concieved, and then used this product. ... it worked as advertised, but I would never, ever give such advice to anybody. It's just something I would not do. But that is me :)

Because.... well do to what I believe. I believe that once a baby is concieved, it lives. And as it lives, it has a right to be born :) I know, I know we differ on this. I believe a child lives (thinks?) from the start of conception :) But alas... this is a fun conversation :D

What about birth control?
Very good question. I am all for birth control.. I think things like ru-486 (the "abortion" pill) are ideal for terminating an unwanted pregnancy. How would I feal if the woman I was with used ru-486 to terminate her pregnancy? I don't know. I guess technically it is the same as an abortion, but it is so much like birth control pills. If I am practicing contraception anyway what is the difference? I guess it's just knowing the fact that your child is growing inside her and you ending it's life, although at that point it is only a few cells. You lose millions of cells every day so why should this be any different? I guess the difference is the only thing separating those few cells from a growing breathing living human is a little time. This is going way deeper than I want. What is a little time? Is it only our perception? Are these fetus cells and the future child linked in some way, only separated by our limited perception? I don't know. OK, so even so I still don't think I have a problem with it. Is it murder? Maybe. But I think the mother still has a right to kill her baby, as long as the baby doesn't know it's alive. What is the harm in that? I think that is where I differ from a religious person, they think the baby has a soul as soon as it is conceived and I do not. Actually I should say I do no know it has a soul, I want to keep an open mind but I am not going to assume it has a soul. I would not want my pregnant partner to take ru-486 because in a way it is still somewhat like losing a child, I wouldn't know though.

As for religion, I think it is a mind disease. I think language itself has a lot to do with it. Once a species is intelligent enough to develop language, they can probably start contemplating their existence. I think of language as the carrier of the disease just an a mosquito is the carrier of the West Nile Virus. I also see language not only as the carrier but also as the cause.
