Just one thought on resizing:
taking care of width and height is a good start but not enough.

You should also consider if the gadget retains it's size but moves with the edge of the parent.
(like with the Properties/Objects list/tree in your designer)

I can bind pbf files to the designer and it will start when doubleclick'd, but the file is not opened.

Well, adding such functionnalities takes age, I started working on the Form Designer only 5 weeks ago!
Positioning is on the list too

Let the FormDesigner accept files on the command line.

Impressive work in such a short time!

I tested the FormDesigner for the first time, when it's included in the PB5.00 Beta2 package. My OS: MacOS 10.5.8

Just after starting it come up with this graphic error in the design view, which goes away if I resize the window:


Furthermore when I immediately use the splitter between the design area and the properties area the program crashes. Here is the MacOS report:

Let the FormDesigner accept files on the command line.
I can bind pbf files to the designer and it will start when doubleclick'd, but the file is not opened.

The first one should be fixed.

Can you please open the preference panel, change something and see if it's correctly saved?

In Preference setting Window : The ComboxGadget() used to select the panel position, the skin to use, and the Language should have the height set to 30. With the current height the current ComboBox content are not fully visible, we can only guess.

You should delete the preferences yes, on Leopard it should be on: GetHomeDirectory() + Library/Application Support/gdpcomputing

Sorry, but that don't help. The GFX error seems to be resolved, but I can't use the FormDesigner as it's crashing 1-2 seconds after program start.
