I think that since the announcement of the LTS were all ready that 5.2[x] it to work, and 5.3[x] to experiment until [x] will not grow to 2.3,....,9

The answer to that is the same as the answer to "why do you have an LTS?"

The point would be exactly the same as having an LTS in the first place:

First, for old code compatibility: user [useful] is not the only person to have "publications". There are scores of library sites, and almost every one needs an update to work with 5.22. Each year or so, PB has an update that "breaks" old code. This would extend the useful life of the libraries for people testing the waters.

Second, so you have a "most proven" version. If a newbie hits a bug in the "new" demo version, they can try the LTS. (Although they are more likely to type erroneous code, given PB's unique and broad syntax.)

I understand your goal is to have the newest release as equally robust as the LTS, but because there is some uncertainty, you have both. Otherwise, with mere "additions" that do not change the core, you would just add those new commands to the LTS.

I do commiserate.
Oh, the pain of not being #1.
I suppose it's a good thing that most of us can still run Windows® on our desktop machines.

One thing at a time. ;)

- PB Windows
- PB Linux
- PB Mac OS X
- 5.30 and 5.23 LTS for the above
- SpiderBasic

There are even requests for supporting more targets in the forum (Raspberry Pi, Android, iOS, ...).

EDIT: I forgot PB for KolibriOS in the list of requested targets, sorry.

I will gladly pay for a Purebasic version for Android even if it was x4 times the cost of the Windows version, or I would not mind it to be some kind of subscription like the SpiderBasic.

If I was Fred I would make a poll that was like this:

Ask which platform people want the most, ask to those people who is willing to back some kind of kickstart-like funding.

I would kill for something like PB to make games on Android.

If there were one day to be an android version, I could finally get a few friends off my back and say, "Yes, you can run that on Android".

Had friends pressuring me for years but I haven't had to do anything (evil grin).

PureBasic for Android? Android has unfortunately only 1 billion devices ... That's not worth it!?

Unbelievable...
Am I the only guy, who finds the never ending plea/begging for mobile support daunting?
It's a small team and I find it extremely amazing, that they are able to juggle between
OSX, LINUX, Windows and Spiderbasic. Furthermore there's a massive and constant stream of
requests, enhancements and bug fixing...
Quite unbelievable.... :|
