Don't know you can use where you are, but try https://www.startpage.com/
Agreed, I feel exactly the same way. I use https://DuckDuckGo.com which admittedly is fed by the Microsoft crowd, so therefore not very much better than Google, when it comes to corporate misdeeds and manipulative practices, but I find the results to be better.

I see that you have a Gmail account on your blog though, Erolcum. :D

Google has recently been prosecuted over its secretive payments to web browser developers and device manufacturers, to coerce them into putting Google's search option at the top of the list, and also to make it impossible to remove. Google spent $26 billion in total during 2021, in making these clandestine payments.

OK, I changed my signature to github :D
More than privacy, when google chrome first opens, it connects to 5-6 servers at the same time, making the network busy, I was disturbed by this actually. Otherwise, everyone's information flows to a single country as you already know: ios, mac os, windows, facebook, google, twitter, instagram, whatsapp etc.

The ONLY plugin I use in all my browsers is "umatrix" available for Chrome, Firefox and all offshoots including MS Edge, which is a variant of chrome. Highly recommend. Can learn about it here:

I used to like Firefox but it suddenly stopped loading *any* page I tried to go to and could not find solution, which is what led me to the Waterfox variant.

Waterfox also has translation but I can't comment on its use because I never used it so don't even know if it works.
