Just Found PureBasic - Please tell me...

I have already done a DDE-Server and Client with Purebasic (See the resourcesite for code ), all you have to do is studying the Win-Api and investigate some minutes

Well you could wait or buy now at a cheap price and get free upgrades. Since the price for PB should go up sometime next year if not a year later (supply vs demand?). This way, you get all upgrades for free

I work as a mainframe programmer for the state of AK, we have no need of purebasic, so I use it as a hobby, which is quite hard to do for game coding.. bleh. Or more like converting existing games created in VB to PB, plus the need to have it cross-platform.

So even if you wait to use the bugger, buy now and save money

You make a good point. If PB is becomes priced beyond my means, I will start my search for a powerful, easy to use, product that is affordable. That's how I initially found PB.

I would hate to miss the free updates. I'm not a programmer, but enjoy creating small applications to get a job done. VB6 had been my tool of choice, just because of the huge user community and loads of supporting documentation. Now VB is so over priced because of all the .Net functionality (which I don't need). That's why I was looking for a less expensive tool. Also, that large runtime module is a real pain. Not to mention the need for add-ons whenever serial communications or graphing is necessary.
