I have update the code in the first post.
You see the Keyboard shortcuts at the top of the source code and I have slightly optimized the "brush stroke" algorithm.
Great, I'll give it a good work out today. I will let you know how it goes.

Hi Mr L,
Solid as a rock. No crashes.
I put on my crevette and digital smock, smoked some Gauloises and had a little dab with your brush.
Came up with this bit of retro impressionist kitsch. It was a bit of a struggle and I had to sign it in another package.

Funny you should mention that. Normally I work on 2D digital works at approximately life size, I worked on this at a bit more than double the res because your brush works more predictably when it's larger. I then shrunk it down to 40% size - and didn't keep the original.

That multiple level undo was beautiful, it would never have got done without it. I'm going to try to understand the code now.

Do you have specific plans for the brush?

Hi idle,
Sadly I have only got to France twice, it's a long way from Oz. I had a ball on both occasions. Later my daughter was an exchange student in France and speaks French fluently. We've all forgiven the Norman conquest. To be honest, I can live without the crevette but I''ll keep the Gauloises and have a nice red.
Cheers.

Maybe some day i'll try to come up with a GLSL version and see if it runs faster on the GPU.
...untill then I'm waiting for the call from Adobe 8)

I quite enjoy the local Gauloises substitute, it goes well with a Red wine and it stinks about the same.

I don't think Mr Adobe needs any more brushes, he's got a few of his own already. I think if you have improvements in the future you should keep developing it. It's really nice work.

This code is one of the many surprise jewels on this forum. I hope it gets updated perhaps one day.

I am not an oil painter but it's fun to experiment with it. As mentioned above by others the brush might need some additional brush-altering smear dynamism. That would make it very very realistic. It maybe has nothing to do with it but it remembers me the game "MudRunner" which has a powerful physics engine concerning driving big cars through mud and realistically getting stuck etc. to me these are "loosely" connected subjects.
